When August Ends is the new standalone and now my favourite book by Penelope Ward. 
The story is a forbidden romance between and young women and older man. I loved this dynamic and it created a sinful, emotional , sweet and sexy romance. 
Penelopes writing dragged me in straight away and the slow build romance kept me hooked wanting more and more from the characters and story.
The characters built a really solid friendship . It wasn't all plain sailing between them and things did get backward at times but I just loved their connection and how there relationship built up over tine.
Heather was a great character. I feel in love with her straight away. She was mysterious and very sweet but she was also sexy to. She was young but also wise beyond her years.
Noah stole my heart. He liked to keep his walls up and not let anyone get close to him. It would take someone special to push through his walls and Heather was that special person he didn't know he needed.
I laughed out loud so much throughout the book and gave my heart to Noah and Heather.

I love a sexy age difference book. An older experienced man with a sweet young girl. Yep that's HOT! This one added even more of a "forbidden" element he was her sisters boss!

Audrey wanted "lessons" she wanted to know what she liked her past lovers had left her disappointed. What she didn't need lessons in was seduction!

Dylan was drawn to her he fought it because it was wrong on so many levels but she was a temptress and he couldn't say no he had to "teach" her.

There was a time line on their playful tryst and I was afraid someone might get hurt because this wasn't going exactly as they planned. 

What unfolded was a Sexy story I couldn't stop reading. But that ending!! I want more, they want more. That can't be the end!!

So I not so patiently wait for the next book so I can see the rest of their story.

 I had heard great things about this author and she has been on my Want to Read list for awhile. Definitely kicking myself for waiting because this was a fantastic book. I love her writing style. The story flowed easily allowing me to gobble it up in a day.
Lenny and Gideon were adorable best friends both keeping their true feelings secret for years. They made me laugh so many times with their fun flirty friendship. Then he took a bold step and I was thinking ok we are moving forward and the story got really good. More fun, more flirting but now we have added heat. A slow build of steam until they exploded and then it was Hot as Hell. 
But through it all their friendship was their strongest bond. I loved it! I loved them!
One book by Xavier Neal down and the rest of her book list to go. I will be reading more for sure!

On more than one occasion I felt I must stop reading because if I stop then I don't have to review BUT Isabelle Blanco is BRILLIANT  !!!! She hooks you and reels you in .....you're an addict before you can blink ! Then to make sure you come back for more she leaves you hanging at the end .....

Just to put things into perspective,  I was late for work because I sat reading in the parking lot,  while I was driving I switched over to audio just to make sure I didn't miss out....I even went to the loo more often just so I could sneak in a page or 2 .....true story !

A brilliant ,dark and addictive read ! I can't wait to devour Mortal Siege !

Such a sweet, sweet romance. I saw Rockstar in the title and Hudson is not what I was expecting. Usually I find a hot badboy hero but not this time he is sweet, caring, patient and simply swoonworthy it was refreshing.

The story kept me interested with a bit of angst from a meddling ex and the secret past Charlie was hiding ( WOW!). Once those were dealt with I could breathe and enjoy their blooming love.

The thing I loved most were the characters! They were fun and relatable. I was immediately welcomed into Hudson's family right along with Charlie and her best friend Monica ( She was awesome too). But little Mirabelle stole everyone's heart including mine. 

This is the first I have read by this author and I really hope it is a series. I can't get enough of this group.

The smart and rational side of my brain seems to be on a break because all I’m capable of doing is raking my eyes over Mr. Basketball Shorts. He’s tall with broad shoulders and the most pronounced abs I’ve ever seen up close. The baseball cap on his head is turned backward, and he’s currently wiping his face off with what I assume to be his shirt. That is the only reason he hasn’t seen me yet, and why I haven’t seen his face yet either. But I’m going out on a limb here and say it’s probably as gorgeous as the rest of him.

My eyes drift back to his drool-worthy chest, following the beads of sweat that are slowly running down his torso to the V-shaped lower abs until they disappear into the pair of shorts that sits low on his hips.

Sudden heat shoots through my body, making my cheeks tingle from the force of it. My brain uses that moment of distraction to finally kick back in again, reminding me of the situation at hand.

A total stranger is standing in my kitchen.

Half-naked.

And we’re all alone in this house.

Loved the cover art !

My introduction to Mack had me laughing  not only because it was funny but because I could so identify with his need to  have "child out time  " and like him I adore my kids ♥️

So Mack's wife left him and his 3 adorable girls and he's doing an epic job of rearing them and I laughed so many times because he's real and you just feel his anguish at being mom and dad and you identify with his frustrations, high's and lows .

So between juggling washing ,doing hair, feeding kids ,filling the swear jar ,ballet ,grocery shopping and what not Mack has to work and this is where his path crosses with Frannie ,on a family basis. 

Frannie has always had a thing for Mack since he started working at Cloverleigh . 

You must understand one thing about Frannie though, she's lived a very sheltered life and has a controlling mother but she wants to make her own decisions, mistakes, she wants a little freedom ....

Frannie also has a gift which has me weak at my knees....she bakes ...delectable goods but her macarons ,they're legendary and I drool each time I read about them and people's responses to them 🤤

Mack's eldery babysitter takes a nasty fall  and can't help him with the girls anymore so Frannie offers to help ....

Mack and Frannnie try to fight what's between them but the heart wants what it wants and even the girls love Frannie. 

Mack hit me hard ,right from the start ,he's an awesome dad that tries and do right  by his girls and even put his happiness aside to make sure they came first ♥️  and they were quick to let to let him know Frannie was it ! 

But if ever 2 people were made for each other it was them.  Frannie loves the girls like they're her own and it goes both ways .....

I just loved Mack, Frannie ,the girls and everyone at Cloverleigh....let's not forget the macarons 

Excerpt:

I was holding my breath. I wasn’t even sure why, but it was something about the way Mack was looking at me. And the tension in his body—the taut muscles in his neck. The grip of his fingers on the edge of the counter. The set of his jaw. It gave the impression of restraint. Like he was holding himself back. Something unfamiliar hummed in the air between us. I could feel it—he wanted me the way I wanted him. No wonder I couldn’t breathe. Then he cleared his throat and turned away from me, cutting off the current. “Sure. Everybody needs to make mistakes now and then.” I’d forgotten I’d even asked the question. He turned the sink on, rinsed his dishes, and placed them in the dishwasher. I stood there staring at his muscular back, at the width of his shoulders, at the snug fit of his jeans on his butt. If I were his and he were mine, I’d go over and wrap my arms around his waist, press my cheek to his back. Then he’d turn around, winding his arms around me. He’d lower his lips to mine, and— “I should get you home,” he said, interrupting my fantasy. “Want to grab your coat?” “Sure.” But I didn’t really want to leave. I wanted to stay in this warm, chaotic house with him and the girls. Pretend I belonged here. Pretend I belonged to him.

Hollywood Princess took me a little bit to get into at first I had a hard time connecting with Kellie, but as the story progressed I started to root for her and Brian.  A quick summary of the story is Kellie has a "fan" that is sending gifts to her and claiming that she belonged to them. That's where Brian comes in, now they had met previous to this story (I'm wondering if I missed that somewhere in another book.) She assumed he wasn't interested . Things are a little rocky at first between them.

Now Brian I loved. He's an former Navy Seal who knows what he wants and regardless of what happened before between them he makes his intentions known. After the 90 day tour, she's his. Can he stick to his timeline even as the sexual tension grows between theme? As the threat continues, can he protect her?

I had it figured out pretty quick who the stalker was, but that doesn't take away from the story, or for me it didn't. This story had great secondary characters, I loved her BFF/PA, Cori, she was a hoot.

Overall I really enjoyed the story and I love Natasha's work. I'll pretty much read anything she writes. I can't wait for the next book in the series and OMG that Epilogue was everything!!!!!!

 

   

When her nose isn't buried in a book, or her fingers flying across a keyboard writing, she's in the kitchen creating gourmet meals. You can find her, in four inch heels no less, in the car chauffeuring kids, or possibly with her husband scheduling his business trips. It's a good thing her characters do what she says, because even her Labrador doesn't listen to her...
