Rating: 4.5 stars!!

Harper has her dream and her life is wonderful. She has her own home and a dog to keep her company and her Lingerie store is doing wonderful things! Plus the space next to hers just came up available and she wants to expand, it’s great until Latham comes back to town and her dream of expanding starts to crumble.

Latham just got back from his time in the army and is working at his family’s hardware store. He really wants to expand into the space next door but he runs into trouble when A blast from his past, Harper, also wants to same space. What happens when these two see Escher other and the sparks fly but they both realize they both canny get what they want.

I loved Harper. She was an amOng character in the first book. Love and Pancakes and I’m so happy we got her book next! She is smart and outgoing and independent! Latham was a great hero! I loved the banter he had with Harper and I loved the pranks that got pulled i this book!!

This was a great rom com book! It had humor galore and was not heavy on the drama. We also got to see of favorite family, the Summer family, make and appearance!!

I can’t wait for book three in the series!! Bring it on Lacey Black!!

Exclusive Excerpt:

My happy puppy greets me as soon as I slip inside the house, the air conditioning a welcome reprieve from the heat outside. I bend down and give her a quick pet behind the ears before leading her to the back door. She runs off, anxious to do her business, while I head back inside to take a quick shower. I don’t wash my hair, but shave and exfoliate all of the important areas. When I’m smooth and clean, I jump out of the shower, anxious to head over to Latham’s. I smother lotion over every square inch of my body, the rich scents of jasmine and vanilla wrapping around me. I touch up my makeup, darkening my eyes in that sultry way I used to do daily, but now save for special occasions. Then, I head for my dresser. I already know which one I want. After spending a few minutes with Adrian and feeling the anticipation she was experiencing, I dig out my own black bustier and matching thong set. Mine is an older style, though, with deep red piping and a black lace overlay. Carefully, I snap the back and glance in the mirror. It dips dangerously low, showcasing my cleavage and pushing my breasts together magnificently. The lace thong is sexy, enticing, and bold. Perfect. I snap the garter belt into place and roll on a pair of stockings. Then, I return to my closet and find my dark blue sundress. It’s shorter than the others and will barely hide the stockings that hit just above mid-thigh. It too will be perfect. Keeping my hair up, I retwist it into a knot, letting only a few tendrils of hair hang around my face. Taking one last look in the mirror, I slip on my too-high strappy sandals, swipe dark gloss over my lips, and head out of my room. I make a quick pit stop at the back door and call Snuggles. She’s not too happy to be coming in from outside, but when I produce a treat from the cabinet, she hightails it out of her doghouse and trots up the back steps like her tail is on fire. It wags furiously as she sits like a good girl and shakes for her treat. After a few more minutes of showering her with affection, I fill her food and water bowls, and make sure she’s settled for the evening. Then, I head back to my car. It’s only a few blocks from downtown where my business is, and even though I try to keep the windows open to enjoy the early evening breeze, it’s just too hot outside, or maybe I’m a little too nervous. Too sweaty. So I roll up the windows and crank on the air. As soon as I do, I hear a poof sound, and it’s suddenly raining. Not liquid, though. This is sparkly particles of hell flying through the air and landing everywhere. Everywhere. Glitter. So. Much. Glitter. I stop at the stop sign, spitting the sliver sparkles from my mouth and glance around. My entire car is covered in it. My dress. My arms. My face. Dirty rotten bastard, son of the devil asshole jerk! He’s. So. Fucking. Dead.

REVIEW

REVIEWER: TAMMI
RATING: 5 stars

I am emotionally exhausted from this book!! The first half had me near tears multiple times but the second half I had actual tears. One part had me a blubbering mess! I had to put my Kindle down and collect myself. So freaking good!!!

This was a hard story to read at times mental illness is not an easy subject. Hayley Faiman wrote this story perfectly it made you understand and feel for Roxanne as she suffered and struggled with her thoughts and actions.

Houston loved her through it all- her good, her bad and her ugly times.
I have read just about all of this authors books and this one hands down is my favorite. It was such a fantastic story!

And I can't forget the bonus short story at the end. I was super happy to read a quick story about a character I met and really liked in Roxie and Houstons book

05 MTTY eCover highres.jpg

I romanced her for revenge…but what if she’s not the enemy after all?

I’m Clint Holmes. I was an ambitious guy with a busy life and a growing business. Sure North Dakota wasn’t a tropical paradise, but I was happy enough—until tragedy struck. Now the only thing that matters is finding the person responsible and making her pay. But Bethany Banks is a Harvard-educated shark used to swallowing her enemies whole while playing dangerous corporate games. How can a blue-collar oil man like me possibly beat her?
The moment I lay eyes on my beautiful nemesis, the answer is obvious. I seduce her.

On Maui, where she’s fled, I get to know the man-eater who caused my family so much pain…only to find she’s not the brazen ballbuster I assumed. She’s skittish, secretive, vulnerable. For some reason, my instinct is to protect her. I can’t abandon my plan…but I can’t stop wanting her. Night after night, I pry her open with my touch until I’m drowning in our passion. Soon, I’m questioning everything, especially the fine line between love and hate. But when the past comes back to wreak vengeance and the truth explodes, can I prove that I’m more than tempted to love her forever?

REVIEW:

REVIEWER: CHELSEA
RATING:  4 stars!

I have read all the books in this series so I was happy about getting this one on my Kindle! This is the story of Clint Holmes and it’s an enemies to lovers story with a twist.

Clint planned on seducing Bethany and putting her through hell like he believed she had done to his family but he falls for the secretive vulnerable woman who is not like he expected.

Bethany was hard to love at first. It was hard to connect with her. Bethany, like most women, had more than one side to herself and it was hard to come to terms with what she does all the time and the reasoning.

These two were great together. I loved Clint and it was great to watch him fall. It was great to get into his head and get in on the ride of his emotions. I really liked this story and the only reason it wasn’t 5 stars for me was my inability to connect with Bethany most of the time. But that was me personally.

Lovers of romance and a good enemies to lovers story this book is for you!

Excerpt:
“Can one of you keep an eye on Beth? She’s getting hit on a lot, which I told her to expect. But one creepy guy who was here last night is here again today. He seems awfully determined.” “The one in the loud Hawaiian shirt with the matching personality?” my buddy asks. “That one. He parked his ass in her station as soon as we opened. He’s been messing with her ever since.” “I’ll take care of it,” I chime in. First, when I bartended on the side in the past, I saw a lot of the girls struggle with dirtbags who refused to understand that no means no. Second, coming to her rescue will be a great way to meet Bethany and start gaining her trust. I refuse to think about how excited my libido is to spend time with her. “Thanks, Clint.” With that, Andy dismisses us. Ash and I file down the hall. My buddy laughs. “You in the role of Bethany’s protector. Oh, the irony…” “Hey, I’m not out to hurt her. I just want justice. I have no doubt she helped to swindle those people, so she deserves to pay as the law provides.” “Fair enough. But, um…she clearly flips your switch. How are you going to keep your paws off her?” Bethany Banks turning me on visually is fucking inconvenient. I’m sure that once I start talking to the woman, her personality will quickly turn me off. “I’ll work it out.” “Ready for the madhouse?” I follow Ash behind the bar. “Let’s do it.” It takes me less than ten minutes to learn the ropes. Then Ash introduces me to the other waitress on duty, Montana. She’s a sultry brunette with dark eyes, golden skin, and big tits. Honestly, she’s usually my speed in women. And yet as we’re chatting and she’s flirting, my gaze keeps straying to Bethany. What is it about her? She’s beautiful, but what else? Is it her aloofness? Maybe. I want to figure her out so I can understand why a brilliant woman, surely capable of making her own fortune, would help her father fleece people. The angry part of me wants to grasp how she managed not to get caught. Mostly, I fear the attraction is chemical and, regardless of what logic tells me, I want to nail her. When Montana jaunts off with a wink. Ash pulls me aside. “Are you that rusty? Montana would totally do you, and you blew her off.” I know, and the fact I’m not interested annoys me. “I’m not here for sex. Introduce me to ‘Beth’ and let’s get this farce going.” As we approach, she sets a beer down in front of a guy who’s fortyish in a Hawaiian shirt—like a lot of the tourists here. He eyes her with excruciating intensity. She meets his gaze with an arched brow raised. My gut tells me she’s not only not interested, but she’s silently rebuffing him. Mug delivered, Bethany turns to leave. The man grips her wrist hard, his muscles flexing, veins popping, knuckles white. When she winces and tries to wriggle free, he clamps tighter and stands, jerking her toward him. Fuck that. Even if Bethany Banks is guilty of a multitude of sins, she doesn’t deserve to be manhandled by this jerk against her will. I barge my way between them, shoving her behind me. “Do we have a problem here, sir?” Fury pinches his mouth. He narrows his eyes. “This has nothing to do with you. Butt out.” “You don’t have permission to maul the staff. I’m going to have to ask you to keep your hands to yourself or leave.” “Do you have your head so far up her twat that you don’t see she’s a fucking bitch?” The guy scoffs and rolls his eyes. “Yeah, and you deserve everything you get when she chews you up and spits you out.” With that, the asshole tosses down some money and starts to walk away. I’m furious. In part because he accused me of wanting her when I do. But mostly I’m pissed on Bethany’s behalf. “That was uncalled for. You’re not welcome back here unless you apologize to her.” He grits his teeth, upper lip curling up with contempt as he turns to Bethany. “Fine. A thousand apologies.” The douche doesn’t mean a word of that, and I want to pound his face. No, I’m not looking to become Bethany’s knight in shining armor. But this kind of guy always grates on my nerves because he thinks he can treat all women like trash, and the only thing that matters less than them are their feelings. I hate pricks like him. Unfortunately, I can’t do anything else right now without ramping up the incident, instigating a fight…and probably getting fired. Instead, once he leaves, I turn to Bethany. I’m pissed all over again when I see she’s gone tense, as if she’s trying to hold herself together, and sporting a big red handprint around her small wrist. “You okay?” She nods. It’s shaky at first, then she drags in a steadying breath. “Yeah. He might be the first to think he can demand something more than a drink. But like Andy said, he won’t be the last. I’ll get used to it. Thanks for stepping in. I’m Beth.” When she holds out her hand, I have to admit I’m impressed by her backbone. I’ve seen new waitresses shrink, cry, and ultimately quit when confronted with a customer that vile. Bethany simply picked herself up and now looks determined to carry on. “You’re welcome. I’m Clint. It’s my first day.” I shake her hand. We touch. Heat flares and rolls through me, instant and scorching. If I wanted to fuck her before, it’s nothing compared to the lust burning me now.

BLOG TOUR: PRETTY RECKLESS BY LJ SHEN

PR - BT banner.jpg

Pretty Reckless, an all-new standalone high school, bully romance from USA Today bestselling author L.J. Shen, is available now!

LJSPrettyRecklessBookCover6x9_MEDIUM

We were supposed to be best friends
But turned out to be worst enemies…

Penn
They say revenge is a dish best served cold.
I’d had four years to stew on what Daria Followhill did to me, and now my heart is completely iced.
I took her first kiss.
She took the only thing I loved.
I was poor.
She was rich.
The good thing about circumstances? They can change. Fast.
Now, I’m her parents’ latest shiny project.
Her housemate. Her tormentor. The captain of the rival football team she hates so much.
Yeah, baby girl, say it—I’m your foster brother.
There’s a price to pay for ruining the only good thing in my life, and she’s about to shell out some serious tears.
Daria Followhill thinks she is THE queen. I’m about to prove to her that she’s nothing but a spoiled princess.

Daria
Everyone loves a good-old, unapologetic punk.
But being a bitch? Oh, you get slammed for every snarky comment, cynical eye roll, and foot you put in your adversaries’ way.
The thing about stiletto heels is that they make a hell of a dent when you walk all over the people who try to hurt you.
In Penn Scully’s case, I pierced his heart until he bled out, then left it in a trash can on a bright summer day.
Four years ago, he asked me to save all of my firsts for him.
Now he lives across the hall, and there’s nothing I want more than to be his last everything.
His parting words when he gave me his heart were that nothing in this world is free.
Now? Now he is making me pay.

REVIEW:

REVIEWER: KIM
RATING: 5 STARS

This was my most anticipated read of 2019 and damn was it worth every second of waiting for it to release.

The story was far from predictable. There was so many twists and turns that you never see coming that make the book extremely hard to put down.

You need to go in to this story completely blind to get the most out of the story and characters so my review is going to be short and spoiler free so everyone can enjoy it like I did.
The story is based in high school but there's nothing YA about the story. Penn and Daria are high school enemies. The angst between them is full on and makes the book addicting.

Daria isn't the person she wants everyone to believe she us. She comes across all confident and hard but actually she's list, broken and in need of being fixed. She has so many insecurities that make her character more rounded and original.

Penn also has issues. He is just as complex and has loyalties torn between family and love. Nothing is easy for him. Yes on his own so doesn't know who has his back or how to deal with new emotional like love.
I never expected Daria and Penn's characters to be so intense and complex.

LJ Shen wrote a master ouece. I've always loved her books and writing but this book was by far her best book so far.
If You like a unique, rollercoaster ride of emotions story with complex characters then this story is for you. I couldn't recommend this book any higher.

Excerpt:

“I don’t want you transferring into my school,” I hiss out. Melody would gladly file a transfer request, and Principal Prichard would salivate over the chance to snatch him up for our football team.
“That won’t be a problem. You guys suck so much ass, you have shit-breath.”
“Still smells better than poverty. You’re poor, right? Your sister was just bullshitting about being rich.”
When someone hits me with a stick, I run over them with a tank. I’m so mean to him I want to throw up. I hate this part of being me. The striking harder at all costs part.
“Just to make things clear.” I put the brush down, batting my lashes. “You’re not my step-sibling, foster brother, or a part of the family. You’re a stray dog. Last of the litter, most unlikely to be adopted, and a charity case.”
Penn takes a step toward me, and my heart is fighting its way out of my ribcage. The closer he gets, the more I realize that my heart might succeed. Penn’s eyes remind me of a snake’s. Mesmerizing, but inhuman altogether. They weren’t like that before.
His scent messes with my head. I want to reach out and caress his face. Kiss his wounds better. Beg for forgiveness. Curse him. Push him away. Cry on his shoulder for what we’ve done. For how it ended. For what we became afterwards, because I’m full of crap and he is totally empty.
We ruined ourselves the day of our first kiss.
Penn looks down at me. Time stops. It feels like the world is losing gravity, falling into a bottomless depth in space when he clasps my chin with his thumb and finger, lifting my head up. I can’t breathe. I’m not sure I want to, either. My towel drops to the floor with a thud, even though I secured it over my chest. I realize that he tugged at it intentionally. I’m naked. My body, my soul, my heart. All my walls are down. Somewhere in my head, a red alarm blasts and my inhibitions are getting armed, ready to fight back. I’m trying to decode his expression. He is amused, irritated, and…playful? The mixture of emotions doesn’t make any sense.
“Mess with me, Followhill, and I will ruin you.”
“Not if I ruin you first.”

RELEASE DAY SO GOOD BY JENIKA SNOW

Matthew

Ivy. So sweet and young, so innocent and mine, even though I was crossing a line by simply desiring her.
My step-brother’s daughter. Forbidden, taboo. I should stay away, but in my mind I’d already claimed her, already made the decision I couldn’t let her go.
If wanting her was wrong … I didn’t want to be right.

Ivy

I was still in high school, hadn’t even experienced the world, but I already knew who I wanted to spend my life with.
Matthew.
He was someone I could never be with, yet here I was, feeling him, touching him … being with him. It was all so perfect until it wasn’t, until my father found out … until my world was turned upside down.
And through it all Matthew was there, telling me he wouldn’t give me up, wouldn’t let me go.
But could he keep that promise during the fallout?

Forbidden romance is HOT!
Jenika Snow books are HOT!

But a forbidden romance by Jenika Snow that is SMOKIN' HOT!

I enjoyed this story so much. I have read quite a few of her books and I think this is one of my favorites. The characters felt real. The situation was awkward he is her step-uncle (NO blood relation) but didn't make for an awkward story it was told in away that made you understand. And the characters fought it, knew it was wrong but you can't help who you fall in love with.

I was worried about the aftermath. I thought it would end them.

And OMG! They had undeniable heat!
I love this author for her quick, easy to read, hard to put down, steamy books!!

God, was this really happening?
I’d meant to head back inside, maybe to sleep off the schnapps buzz, or maybe to get away from my intense feelings for Matthew. The way he looked at me, spoke to me, screamed possessiveness. Or maybe it was all in my head?
At least I had thought that until he put his hand on my waist to steady me, until he spoke low about guys at school wanting me. It was then I knew these feelings weren’t just one-sided.
The alcohol had made my emotions more consuming, more heightened. I could hear my heart beating in my ears, feel it beating against my ribs. My mouth was dry, my throat tight. My nipples were hard, the wetness between my thighs having everything to do with the sight of Matthew.
His eyes were hooded, his gaze glossy. I could smell the whiskey on his breath and I swore I felt myself getting even drunker. I felt so buzzed, my face hot, my cheeks probably red. I could taste the peach liquor on my tongue, assumed he could smell it on my breath.
But still he said nothing.
“You shouldn’t be drinking,” he said.
No, I really should have, especially given what was happening right now.
“And neither should you,” I responded, almost challenging him with my tone.
He placed his hands on the banister on either side of my body and leaned down slightly so he could look in my eyes. I averted my gaze, feeling the weight of his stare, of this moment crashing between us.
"Look at me, Ivy," he said softly but with a hint of command.
I couldn’t breathe, didn’t even know what was going on. This wasn’t just Matthew being close to me. This was something much different, something much more.
Disobeying him wasn’t even an option. I lifted my head and stared into his eyes. They were glossy in appearance, a little red-rimmed from the alcohol. Maybe I shouldn't feel aroused at a time like this, for a man like him, but my emotions were running rampant and I couldn't help myself.
For long moments we didn’t speak, just stared at each other, the heat moving between us, my arousal becoming suffocating. I felt something shift in me, this boldness claiming me, the likes of which I’d never felt before.
Do it. Take control. Do what you’ve always wanted to.
The alcohol spoke loudly within me.
Without thinking, I moved in those last few inches until my lips pressed against his. For several long seconds neither of us moved, breathed. I didn’t even think I could form a coherent thought in that moment. I expected him to move back, push me away. But instead our lips stayed connected. I felt, heard his breathing increase, but he didn't deepen the kiss as I desperately wanted … needed.
I let my arousal and emotions lead me and pressed my lips firmer against his. Still he stayed still, didn’t stop this, but also didn’t progress it.
I parted my mouth and ran my tongue along his bottom lip. The soft groan that came from him gave me the confidence I needed.
God, this is really happening.

BLOG TOUR: LETTING YOU GO BY JORDAN MARIE

I met Luna Marshall when I was seventeen.
She was a force of nature that I wasn’t ready for.
She was gravity and I was caught in her pull—
Powerless while she held me in a world I was desperate to escape.

They say you never forget your first love.
I believe they’re right.
I’ll always remember the sound of her laughter.
The way she whispered my name when I touched her, and the taste of her on my lips.
I’ll remember everything.

Including the look of pain as I walked away.

“I’ve known your name since the day you walked down the hall and smiled at me, Luna. You were a freshman and so damn pretty you got my attention right away. I’ve watched you every day of every year since then. You have to know that.”

“I do,” she says, her voice dropping down into a near whisper. “But, you never spoke to me. I thought maybe…”
“Maybe what?” I ask her when she doesn’t finish.
“I thought maybe I was imagining it because I wanted it so much. I wanted you to like me.”
“You shouldn’t.”
“What?” she asks, confused.
I turn to her and she’s looking at me. In the moonlight, I can see the way her forehead crinkles with uncertainty and I think it’s cute, even if I shouldn’t. Then again, I think everything about Luna Marshall is cute.
“We don’t fit,” I repeat.
“You said that before, but I don’t understand.”
“You’re uptown, Luna. You live in a big house on a hill with a picket fence and a three-car garage.”
“So?”
“So, I live in a house that could probably fit in your garage. My dad walks to work because he had his license revoked for driving drunk. He comes home and drinks the night away. You eat dinner with your parents every night. Atticus and I fix a peanut butter or bologna sandwich because that’s what we buy from the jobs we go to after school.”
“That doesn’t matter to me.”
“It wouldn’t because you have no idea what it’s like to live the life I do. But, I know the real world, Luna and your kind and mine don’t match.”
“I think we match,” she says shyly, ignoring my warnings. She even manages to get brave and slides her hand back in mine. I want to pull away. Instead, I thread my fingers through hers.
“Your parents won’t. If you ever try to bring me to that fancy house on the hill, you’ll see.”
“I guess we’ll just have to see what happens, won’t we?” she asks.
I swallow down the unease that rises up inside of me when she smiles, her face is full of happiness that shines bright, despite the darkness. I don’t understand what just happened. She should be running the other way. Instead….

It feels like she just claimed me.

OMG! this book!!
It's a young love, boy from the wrong side of the tracks romance. Yes A story that has been told over and over but this one was different. First it's a Jordan Marie book and her style just sucks me in and I get lost in the story. Second there are so many levels to this story, so much more than young love going on! Angst like crazy, characters that I love, some that I hate, some I can't trust and a mystery. A murder mystery!!
This book has it all!!
OMG! I was in tears my heart breaking for the decisions my poor Luna has to make. They were hard!! And Gavin I just want to hold him and love him. Then I am hit with the ending. EVERYTHING IS SUCH A ROYAL MESS!
This is NOT your average young love, boy from the wrong tracks. This book was INTENSE and got me so worked up I wanted to choke the author. Or maybe just hold her hostage with her laptop until I get the next book.....
