I was extremely curious about and anxiously awaited this story. We learned of the dynamics of this relationship in other books. It DID NOT play out the way I thought it would and I am so very happy.
A fun love story with a bit of a let's say awkward connection in their past.
I loved and hated the how the backstory played out. Loved it because I was totally ok with our heroes actions  and hated it because of the wrongs that were done to him.
The added element of suspense in this one made it so I couldn't put it down.
I am always sucked into a Lani Lynn Vale book and this one grabbed me from the very start.

The Girl in the love song is a beautiful and emotional coming of age romance. It's the first book in the new "list boys" series.
The writing , storytelling, characters, pace, complexability and how heartbreak it was, was all perfect and is what made this story it was.
Emma Scott really won my heart with this story. She created all the feels right from the very beginning where Miller and Violet met at 13 years old. She poured her heart and soul in to the characters and really was able to bring the characters to life for me.
The relationship between Miller and Violet started at 13 years old. That's when they created their friendship. From that day on we got to see their friendship change and blossom in to love. There story wasn't easy though. They were meant to be together but endured a lot throughout the years together and individually. I adored there devotion to each other though and how they were always stronger together than a part. Watching them change throughout the years and progress just showed me how much they were meant to be together.
This was a great story and I can't wait until the next story.

I loved this book ! I laughed and I laughed hard ....there was so much I saw of myself in each of these characters !
The issues with their kids and spouses are all relatable which made this book so much fun .

 Even when I read aloud to the family they'd pipe  up " That sounds like you mommy " or " That's something you would do mum" 🤣🤣🤣

So 2 families are stranded at the airport thanks to cancelled flights but they decide to make  the best of a bad situation and house swop to still get their sought after holidays .....


What follows is brilliant !


Harriet and Sophie are polar opposites ! Harriet is like seriously OCD whereas Soph is a more relaxed so you can imagine the reaction when they walked into.each others homes 🤣🙈
I could just picture this entire story in my minds  eye and I must say Michele has a beautiful writing style and I thi know may just re-read it to make sure I didnt miss any detail !

Lauren Blakely is a no brainer "I read immediately" author. And this series WOW! It's not her typical sweet, fun romcoms. It is sinfully sexy down right filthy story that I am gobbling up.
One Night Only is aptly titled as there was onenight and one night only that was deliciously dirty! HOT is too mild of a word.
But book is not just about that night, there is a forbidden love that both have been afraid to act on, until they do.
So in this book we get the steam of this series and the love story this author does best.

The other books in this series have definitely made me curious about the "Goody Two Shoes" in the background, Mayor Harrington. He was so much more that I expected! His story had a bit of my favorite trope forbidden romance as in a sneaky/hidden office romance.
Charlie continuously made me think of that Golden Girl reference 'Dorothy on the Streets, Blanche in the Sheets' because behind closed doors our straight laced all business Mayorwas HOT!!! And still a loving single father.

I felt for Janessa she just wanted to lead her own life, to be someone, to do something and make herself proud!
And a strong single mother.
**GIRL POWER**
Together they were perfect but their exes did a number on them and continued to cause trouble.
LB Dunbar is most definitely a rockstar at writing Romance over 40!I have loved all of the Silver Foxes of Blue Ridge books!! And absolutely cannot wait for the next one.

Silver Mayor is Charlie Harrington’s book. He’s an all around good guy. He wants to make everyone happy and avoids conflict. He’s the mayor of a small town and a single dad; some say his life is boring. His world is turned upside down when he finds Janessa in is bedroom one morning. She is an ex-wife of someone famous and she wants to go unnoticed. She’s in this small town to start over . But after their run in she can’t seem to avoid Charlie. 

This story was another great addition to this series. Charlie might have seemed like a boring straight laced guy he was the complete opposite  in the bedroom. He was also a great father and good mayor of his town. Janessa was trying to find herself and her purpose since her divorce. She was strong and beautiful. Together they were amazing.  They had great chemistry. Loved this one and cannot wait to see what is next for the Silver Foxes of Blue Ridge.

Ashley , a wedding photographer ,beautiful lavender hair and a beautiful heart to match .....

Colton , Mr hotshot lawyer and emphasis on HOT 😋🔥and oh so full of himself with an attitude to match .....you want to hate him but you love him ! 

Asley has a bridezilla on her hands and she's in need of legal advice so so Colton seems to be her go to man but what a douche ! Hes almost worse than the bridezilla  herself 🤣🙈

Colton actually comes to his senses and he helps Ashley and so starts a friendship .....

Colton's life takes a drastic turn when a beautiful surprise is left   on his doorstep , well his lounge to be exact ...anyway , life takes a turn for him ....

Ashley , Colton and the delightful agent 005 stole my heart ❤ 

Every page was a treat but there were a few chapters where it felt like my heart was being ripped out ,chewed and put back BUT  it was soooooooooo worth it !

Having read all 3 the books , 1 after the other  and loving each one , I feel awful to have to say I favour one over the other but Fortuiy was my   "favorite -favourite ❤


Morgan is such a treat with knowledge and I just love Nathaniel's way of child rearing and life skills he's equipped her with.....hes an amazing dad ❤


Gracelyn becomes an instant mommy to her nephew Gabe ,when his parents die , its be stated in their will to keep things as normal as possible .....same school ,same town ,same house etc.....


Nathaniel and Morgan decide to settle in San Diego for a bit and that's how they meet their neighbours , Gracelyn and Gabe .....



I laughed,  I cried ,my heart broke and mended itself and then I cried some more 🙈🥰 I live books that make me feel !!!!!

“What took you two so long? Don’t worry, we saved you some cake.” Mr. Hans smiles from his recliner with Hunter on the sofa, her thumbs dancing along her phone screen. Gabe will get along well with her.

“Cake, Morgan?”

My steps falter when I hear Nate’s voice from the kitchen.

Mr. Hans winks at me. “I invited Nate for cake too.”

I nod slowly. “I see. Whose birthday is it?”

“Life is a celebration. Cake needs no excuse.”

So much for having some time to digest what Nate said to me and my flirty reaction to his kiss comment. I put on a neutral face and drag my timid ass into the kitchen.

“Cake, Gracelyn?” Nate glances up from the counter, a knife in one hand and a plate in his other hand.

“Mmm … yes, Gracelyn. You want cake.” Morgan rolls her eyes back in her head as she slowly chews a bite, standing next to Nate.

How am I supposed to look at him when I saw him barely an hour ago and he said he wanted to kiss me, and I returned the desire without the actual kiss? I guess we’re going to be two people who want to kiss but know that it will never happen.

“Thank you.” I take the cake, giving Nate a two-second glance. It’s all I can give him without completely self-combusting into a pile of ashes.

“Mr. Hans … this is so good.” Morgan traipses out of the kitchen.

“It is good. I haven’t had cake in a long time.” I slowly lick the frosting from the fork.

Nate glances at the floor, eyes narrowed, and hunches down. After a few seconds, I move around to his side of the island.

“Did you drop something?”

Hunched like a baseball catcher, gaze still to the floor, he crooks a finger at me.

I set my plate on the counter. “Did you lose a contact lens?” I squat next to him behind the counter.

He lifts his gaze to meet my squinted eyes. The corner of his mouth bends just as his hand slides behind my head and his lips press to mine.

What the hell?

My lungs freeze while my heart pauses and my mind explodes. There’s no tongue to this kiss, just hungry lips. It knocks me off balance, and I fall to my knees, resting my hands on his shoulders.

Nate pulls back half an inch, letting his lips hover next to mine, the warmth of his breath covering my stunned mouth. “I’m not even sorry.” He shrugs.

My mouth opens as if it wants to speak, but I have no idea what to say.

“Dad …”

Nate bolts up, leaving me on my knees. “Yes?”

“Can Hunter use—” Morgan’s eyes narrow at me, my head barely peeking over the counter. “Gracelyn, what are you doing?”

“I’m …” I give her a tight smile.

Nate says, “Picking up a few crumbs.”

At the same time, I say, “Tying your dad’s shoe.”

His explanation is much better.

Morgan laughs. “Um … okay. You’re both acting weird.”

I climb to my feet.

“Can Hunter use what?” Nate asks.

“Your bike so we can go for a bike ride.”

“Are you going to stay around here?”

Morgan nods. “Pinky swear. We won’t go too far.”

“I’ll need to put the seat down for her.”

“Yes! Thanks, Dad. I’ll go tell her.” Morgan runs out of the kitchen.

Nate covers the cake with plastic wrap and nods to my plate with the half-eaten piece of cake. “Are you going to finish that?”

Cake. He wants to talk about the cake?

My head inches side to side.

“Too good to let it go to waste.” He picks up the plate and finishes my cake.

YOU KISSED ME!

“By the way …” His gaze remains on the plate as he scoops up the last bite. “Morgan knows I know how to tie my own shoes.”
