Tightening his grip, he escorts me to what appears to be a coat room.

“What the hell?”

“Let’s get one thing straight,” he snarls, cornering me until my spine meets a row of coats. “Your whore mother marrying my father changes nothing between us.”

I almost want to laugh, because I don’t like this new arrangement any more than he does.

However, it’s comical just how much it’s ruffling his feathers.

“Awe, what’s the matter, Trenton?” I taunt. “Afraid I’ll—”

Words die in my throat when one hand slams across my mouth and the other one hovers over my throat, threatening to squeeze. “I’m not afraid of anything, Stray.”

He utters the last word with so much venom I nearly wince. Out of all the cruel nicknames Knox has given me over the years, this one hurts the most.

Because it’s the truth.

Ever since my dad died, I've felt lost and abandoned.

Like a kitten who lost its way and will never find home because they don’t belong anywhere.

He leans in close, his ruthless stare burning a hole right through me. “But you should be.”

Live? More like ruled because as far as I’m concerned, he’s the devil.

My retort falls by the wayside, though, when he leans in and his mouth brushes mine.

I’m about to ask what the fuck he’s doing, but a sharp sting shoots through my flesh when his teeth clamp down on my bottom lip and I taste a hint of copper.

I try to pull away, but that only makes the pain worse.

Thinking quick, I knee him in the balls.

With an aggravated grunt, he finally releases his hold.

I expect him to be pissed so I brace myself, preparing for another attack, but to my surprise there’s a trace of amusement in his expression.

His tongue darts out and I see the glint of metal from his piercing as he swipes the blood gathered on his lip. “Welcome to the family, sis.”

A stand out taboo bully step brother story that will have you falling in love and screaming at your kindle at the same time.

The story has a great storyline with lots of unexpected twists and turns including one huge twist that you will never expect. I was so into the story that I finished it in one sitting.

Aspen is a character that has been out through much. She's very vulnerable which makes her a easy target for Knox.

Knox has a hard start to life and was a abused kid. He's lost of secrets and keeps everyone at arms lengths and he does this by making other people's lives hell. He's very broody, intense and extremely jealous character but with Aspen he is also very protective protective.

I love this author's books and This was just another great one to add to the collection.

Love this author's writing and this book was no exception.

There was so much passion and tension in this story that kept me hooked from start to finish. It was full of surprises, twist and turns. The characters were sexy and very well written and developed too.

I loved the amount of angst throughout as it was intense. This kept me hooked page after page wondering what was going to happen between the couple next.

The author created a dark world that was very edgy and dangerous which really draws you in. I loved the mafia aspect of it and haven't read a mafia book this great for quite awhile now.

Can't wait for whatever is next from this author.

SIERRA

Just as I was starting to lose my anger, it returns full force, slapping me in the face. “I don’t want your dirty money!” I hiss, prodding my finger in his chest.

An amused grin spreads across his mouth, and I want to scream. “I run several successful legitimate businesses. I assure you my money is about as dirty as yours.”

He has an answer for everything. It’s infuriating. “You truly have no shame,” I seethe. How dare he invade my privacy like this. He has no right. “Next, you’ll be telling me you know my bra size.”

His eyes lower to my chest, and I scowl, wanting to wrap my arms around myself to deprive him of the view. But I won’t give him the satisfaction of letting him know how much he is getting to me either, so I don’t move a muscle.

I push him away, glaring at him. “You’re a pig.”

His lips pull up at the corners. “I don’t remember you complaining in Vegas. In fact, I distinctly remember you begging me to suck harder on your nipples as I plowed my cock into your greedy pussy.”

“Get out!” I bark, pointing at the door. “Just go.”

He winks, and I invoke every shred of willpower I possess not to lunge at him and gouge out his eyeballs.

This is my first book by Tempi Lark and my gosh was I taken on one back of a roller coaster and had my heart broken over and over again.

The story was very addictive and I loved all the drama throughout it. 

I really liked the story as it was different to anything I've read before with the asylum aspect. I liked the idea of people with mental illnesses finding love still and getting there happy ever after.

The book was intense but there was parts throughout that did have me laughing to which broke it up.

The book was very short though which I didn't like. It felt rushed at times and the characters under developed. This story could of been epic if it was longer as it had so many good points to it. I wish it was longer.

Hopefully book 2 will have better development and be longer

This is my most anticipated book of 2021 after I read flock and Exodus. This book picks right up where Exodus ended and is duel POV throughout.

This book won my heart. I finished it and couldn't read another book until a few days later as I couldn't get it out of my head.

The story becomes so many emotions and feelings in me. One minute I was swooning , the next crying and then the next having tears down my face. There was so much heartbreak throughout and your left on the end of your seat right until the very end. All the heartache and tears was worth it though as this book was epic just like this whole series is.

This journey through the books exceeded all my expectations. I never wanted it to end.

Read in January 2021

When I read the blurb I just knew this is a book for me ! Sometimes we need to spoil ourselves and this was one of the times when I hit the nail on the head with an epic ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ read !

Mr and Mrs Wolff .... a disfunctional union that functions well , I know that just sounds weird but it is what it is 😱😉

Grace and Noah ate polar opposites in life and live she’s the public prosecutor that works with the sexual crimes unit , she puts the monsters behinds bars and Noah “ rehabilitates” them . 

Grace’s latest case sees the monster getting off but a week later commits suicide only bit wasn’t and Pandora’s box is opened and a serial killer is is on the prowl , actually he’s more of a vigilante,doling out justice to the monsters that so deserve it , earning the name “ Huntsman” and while I think morally we all cheer him on the law is the law and some want the law upheld and ant him brought to justice .....

While Grace and Noah have a daughter that’s having a hard time , their marriage is rocky they still have this issue to deal with as well and it’s a tough one ! I had my thoughts and ideas as to who the Huntsman was and Nicole has a brilliant way of making you question yourself and debate things with yourself ....

A highly recommended read ! I’m on the prowl for more of her books ! A new fan in me for sure !

Parked outside the police precinct in downtown Seattle, I found myself fixated on a particular piece of graffiti sprayed on a concrete column buttressed beneath an overpass. This was different than the typical profanities, initials, or gang signs spewed across old abandoned buildings and freeway infrastructures. 

Freshly painted, given its prominence above the rest of the graffiti, an oval with a line cutting horizontally through the center stretched several feet long. Done in black, it was the Greek symbol for theta, the eighth letter of the Greek alphabet. 

It was the symbol for death. 

It had also become a mark the public had assigned to the Huntsman. A black theta. The mark of death.

It had started small, only known about in fringe society, but then a major news station ran a report on it and the concept exploded into the mainstream. A few weeks ago, a person might pass the occasional weirdo with a theta symbol penned in black Sharpie across the back of their hand, but fast forward a few weeks and a person couldn’t drive to the grocery store without passing bumper stickers, shirts, and pins hanging off backpacks and purses, from your average high school student to your aging veteran. 

At the Public Market, vendors were carrying shirts with the theta symbol accompanied with the caption of Justice for all. They were selling out. 

The Huntsman had been elevated from a cult following to an icon of pop culture, the first serial killer to gain mainstream acceptance. Serial killers before him had always drawn a small fan base of emotionally fragile women, but this was different. The Huntsman not only came with the adoration of those unstable girls wanting to marry him whenever he was caught and thrown into prison for the rest of his life, but your everyday mother, from inner-city to suburban, supported his mission of wiping out pedophiles. They saw him as the dark but necessary hand of justice, an angel of death who protected the most innocent and vulnerable of society. 

The Huntsman had support in the male category as well, from dads, husbands, boyfriends, and students because, veiled as they might keep it, most men at their base believed in good old-fashioned justice where eye-for-an-eye was more life-for-an-eye. 

The elderly, who had known hard times those of us under fifty couldn’t begin to understand, regarded the Huntsman as a necessary evil who was finally cleaning up the streets. And the kids . . . they talked about him almost as though he were the latest and greatest superhero to hit the big screen. An analogy I’d heard from one of the other attorney’s pre-teen was Deadpool meets Suicide Squad meets Batman. 

Whatever that meant. 

Huntsman fever hadn’t only hit the Greater Seattle area, but had swept across the nation. Rallies were arranged by satellite supporters in most major cities in the country. Protests had begun to crop up as well, Huntsman supporters waving signs outside of courthouses and demanding true justice for those standing accused inside. The supporters had even christened themselves with a name—The Disciples. As though they were some devote band of followers who’d do anything for their leader, some of which I didn’t doubt would. 

The Huntsman’s mark—I was still staring at it, half-hypnotized. Up until now, the public had praised the efforts of anyone involved in catching a serial killer, but not this time. No one would thank us for catching the Huntsman. Some would probably attempt to impede our efforts. But I was a state’s attorney, a guardian of the law the way it was written. 

I didn’t have the luxury of deciding which murders were justified and which should be prosecuted.

Fantastic conclusion to this duet!!
This was an intense and riveting story. It definitely sent me on emotional rollercoaster. It picked up right where the last one left off. I was mad, teary eyed, heartbroken and scared for most of the first half of the book. My poor Beni his Mia Bella was hurting and he was helpless, he couldn't fix her. Her saving came from a surprising source and it made my heart melt this person was everything she needed. Then she was back, they were back and I laughed again because at the heart of this story there is an amazing story of friendship and family. Oh and all the heat from the first book is multiplied in this one.**fans self**
