Apparently, I thought wrong.

My Fiancé's Bodyguard, an all-new standalone forbidden romance from Ivy Wild, is available now!

I thought the days of fathers selling their daughters were over.
Apparently, I thought wrong.
Because, in a few short months
I’m supposed to marry Johnny Maldonado.
His record is squeaky clean,
but anyone who’s been to Boston knows who he really is
and what he controls.
There’s only one problem:
I’m not interested in Johnny.
I’m interested in the man charged with his protection.
Maxon Holt. His Bodyguard.
When I ran away, he was the one to find me.
He’s not friendly and we don’t get along.
But, I find myself drawn to him.
Max is cold, dark, and distant.

I love myself mafia books but what gets me each and every time is how the daughters are almost always seen as a bargaining tool and while it gets under my skin I realise it’s just part of their world anyhoo let me not loose focus 🙈🤐😂 must say I really feel for Madelyn being betrothed to a man nearly three times her age and while I’m all for older man younger woman Johnny just gives me the heebie jeebies !

Maxon denies being a knight in shining armour but that is exactly what he is !

You can just feel the chemistry between Madelyn and Maxon from their first “meeting” and later on I’m most grateful for the relationship between them and Doris because that was Madelyn’ssaving grace …,,

In a nutshell , Nadelyn is betrothed to Johnny and the union will join 2 families and with that comes more power and corruption but love and the desire for freedom will win over evil and we were gifted with a few rather tense moments in this ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️read

Excerpt

I watched her as she slept. The rise and fall of her naked chest was so fucking peaceful. A large part of me wanted to just take her and disappear to some island in the Caribbean where no one would know us or care.

But I knew neither of our lives were that simple.

What the fuck was I doing?

What the fuck was I even thinking? And of course, the little princess had to be a virgin. I’d been way off the mark with her. She was so goddamn sure of herself when she talked and the way she acted around me that time in her bedroom.

Fuck.

I was so fucking fucked it wasn’t even funny.

Everything.

All of it.

Five years of work.

Five years of risk.

For a bit of untouched pussy.

But maybe my dick knew better than my head. Because Madelyn was so much more than just a good lay. What she’d said to me nearly broke me when she’d said it.

It spoke to me in a way that it shouldn’t have.

Someone like her, from her upbringing, with her wealth, shouldn’t have been able to connect with my fucked up life so easily.

With the notion of wanting something for yourself. Of wanting to make sure no one else had control over you. Of not wanting to be reliant on others.

The girl was more gangster than most of the kids working for Johnny.

“Fuck,” I breathed out.

She moved in the bed and turned to look at me. It was around dusk and the suite was dark, but even still, her blue eyes shined, giving off “You’re so fucking screwed” signals to my brain.

“Hey,” she said groggily. “You okay?”

I nodded, not sure what to say. What did you even say to a girl after you took her virginity? Well, after she gave it to you. This was new territory for me. Most of the girls I’d hooked up with were experienced and the majority were professionals.

She was silent for a beat before she finally spoke. “So, what happens now?”

I winced. It was the question I’d been dreading because it was one I didn’t have the answer to. Was I just supposed to hand her over to Johnny, knowing who Johnny was and how he treated his laundry list of wives?

But, if I didn’t, I might as well flush the last five years of risk and my chance at revenge down the drain because there was no coming back if I ever got found out.

Shit.

“I don’t know,” I replied honestly.

She sat up in bed and pulled the sheet toward her. She looked down to play with the fabric a bit as she spoke. “I knew what this was when I initiated, Max. I’m not looking for you to hide me out or something.”

“Good,” I let slip past my lips. She didn’t say anything, but even I knew what I’d said stung. I turned around to face her, not letting myself touch her even though that’s all I wanted to do.

She gave me a sad smile and I could feel it in my soul. She looked right through me the way no one in my life ever had. As if she knew what made me tick and that it wasn’t my heart.

“Why are you with Johnny, Max? You don’t belong there. Something else is going on.”

I gave her a lazy smile, trying desperately not to crack under her bright blue eyes.

“Whattya mean?”

She gave me a knowing look. “I mean, you’re obviously not from Boston since you haven’t dropped one 'r' the entire time I’ve known you. And,” she looked down briefly and shrugged. “I dunno. I just have a feeling about you. About the real you. So who are you really?” She looked back up at me with those baby blues and fuck if they didn’t break me.

I was no pussy.

I’d been to war.

I’d seen combat.

I’d lost people.

I’d taken people.

I meant what I said to her when I said I wasn’t some white knight.

I’d been tortured, beaten and broken and I’d never cracked under the pressure.

But, when the fucking princess asked me that question and looked at me that way, my lips started moving, spilling secrets I’d sworn I’d take to my grave all over the fucking room.

BLOG TOUR: CAMPUS HEARTTHROB by Jennifer Sucevic

New Release

Release Date: August 5

From USA Today bestselling author Jennifer Sucevic comes a sexy, new standalone novel.

Brayden Kendricks might be God’s gift to the female species at Western University, but I want nothing to do with the dark-haired football player.  The guy is an attention seeking you-know-what who soaks up fan adoration like it’s his due in life for being hot and talented.

Damn.  Did I just say that?

All right, fine...I’ll grudgingly admit that Brayden is decent looking.  I suppose if you’re into guys who resemble Greek gods with abs of steel and chiseled pecs, then sure, one could consider him attractive.

Am I guilty of having a tiny, practically non-existent crush on him freshman year?

I’d prefer not to answer that question.

Thankfully, I quickly came to my senses and have made a concerted effort to steer clear of Brayden ever since.  It hasn’t been easy, considering that my bestie is now dating his roommate and we’ve been thrown together for an accounting project.  You’d think after years of baring my teeth at him like a rabid dog, the guy would have gotten the memo that I’m not interested.

Apparently not, since he’s spreading word around campus that we’re going out.

I mean, can you even imagine?

Me?

Dating Brayden Kendricks?

I have four words for him...

No.

Way.

In.

Hell.

Layers, and layers, and more layers. This is the story of a couple; not quite friends yet, not quite enemies, but entertwined more than either knows. Brayden Kendricks and Sydney Daniels are partners on a project and nothing more.  Until Brayden decides a fake girlfriend will help untangle him from a persistent female stalker. A little attraction to his partner prompts him to blurt out Sydney's name as his new girlfriend to dissuade the obsessive fan.

Sydney has no intention of dating Brayden, especially  after he ghosted her their freshman year. However his offer to help with a major project with a deadline looming is enough to get her to agree.  A fake relationship that benefits both of them shouldn't be a problem, right?

As the relationship slowly becomes real, Braydon and Sydney learn more and more about each other. Secrets are revealed, but man, the last one is is unexpected.  (No spoilers here)  I'm just going to say, it's worth the read.

The novel is well written, taking plenty of time to dig into the characters.  You feel like you know them as you read their story.  And you will also feel their emotions along with them; the attraction they feel but the heartbreak, as well.  I would recommend this book/series to anyone.

Another sibling finds love in this third book in the Gallagher’s series! This is the story of Ian and Ellie, and I loved it!!

Oh Ian! He plays as hard as he works, but he knows that he has to keep the promise he made to his best friend Henry, to keep an eye on her, which makes the other promise, to not go near her romantically a challenge to keep! He hasn’t seen her in years and when he does see her, he feels the attraction!

Ellie has a plan, to work for a Michelin Star restaurant, but when she starts to find her self attracts to Ian, can she keep her focus on her job too?

I loved this couple and o also was so happy to get to see the Conner family again and obviously more of the rest of the Gallagher’s!

Who does that sexy silver fox think he is, sitting in her spot in the Busy Bean Cafe?

Over forty, with zero filter, Rita Kaplan loves her coffee, her hiking boots, and her law practice. Life hasn’t always been carefree, though, and Rita’s past holds the scars of poor decisions after deep loss. She survived, though, and no smirky silver fox is going to get in the way of her happiness. Even if he knows how to use his drill, screwdriver, and every other tool in his box to tempt her . . .

Former arson investigator Jake Drummond could add ex-con to his resume if he had one. Instead, he’s serving the final year of his sentence on probation. This involves mandatory AA meetings, hosted by a feisty local attorney, and working on a renovation project, supervised by the same annoyingly attractive whirlwind, who also believes she owns the exclusive rights to a comfy couch in his new favorite coffee shop. Soon she’s everywhere, including the few places she shouldn’t be--like in his bed and in his heart.

Can opposites lower their walls and construct something everlasting . . . or will their connected past lead to demolition for two hearts in need of a rebuild?

This book was SO GOOD!
Our couples back stories tugged at my heart and I loved them together but then the author throws in a twist. The twist had me worried, I wanted this couple together but I just didn't see how it could happen.
Then Oh My Goodness she throws another twist at me and my jaw dropped!
I don't want to say much and give anything away.
This is book full of second chances in love and life.
A book showing you Good people make bad decisions and there is always room for forgiveness.
LB Dunbar always gives me a love story with the perfect amount of steam and emotion. I cannot wait to see what she comes up with next.

I loved this second chance romance story. This one was a good reminder that sometimes good people make bad decisions but that everyone deserves a second chance to make it right. Who would have thought that the ex-con and lawyer would make a great couple. But when Jake goes to work building a house for Rita’s nonprofit organization sparks fly. They make a great couple and their romance is very steamy. I’m loving this series and this story was a great addition.

Studfinder Excerpt

“You,” I hiss, glaring at the most annoying man I’ve ever met, and I’ve met plenty of annoying men. Of course, not all of them were hunky, smirky, sexy silver foxes, but that was neither here nor there. I am standing here, and he is sitting there. “You are in my spot.”

This is the third time this week he’s encroached on my couch in the Busy Bean Café, and three strikes mean you’re out, handsome.

Taking a moment, the offender blinks before narrowing his bluest-of-blue-eyes and glares back at me. For a second, I wonder if I have something on my face. Maybe chocolate in the corner crease of my lips or lettuce in my teeth from lunch.

What the frick is he staring at?

Then he blinks again and slowly leans forward. His arm-porn-worthy forearms rest on his wide-spread thighs as he glances up at me. Since I think he’s about to stand from the place where he’s perched, I speak.

“Thank you.” My mother taught me manners, even if I sometimes lack the use of them. Especially on this occasion, where a hunky, smirky, sexy silver fox who is the most annoying man I’ve ever met is sitting in my spot on the plush peach couch in my favorite coffee shop.

He stops moving at my gratitude and turns his head slowly left to right. Then he swivels at the waist right to left, exaggerating his motions as if he’s searching for something over his shoulders. Did he forget something? Did he drop his phone? His hand moves to his side and smooths over the velvety cushion, stroking it like the soft texture is a pleasure fabric or a preferred pet. My mouth waters for some reason because his movements might match that of him caressing a woman, taking his time to sculpt along her thighs. Maybe glide over her backside. Stroke the inside of her legs and . . .

“Just what are you doing?” He’s taking too long to move it.

“I’m looking for a sign that says this seat is taken.” Turning that edgy face upward, beaming those blue headlights at me, he crooks the corner of his mouth in the smirkiest of smirks. “But as I don’t see one, nor do I see your name on this couch, I think I’ll stay.”

He falls back against the couch as if he’s dropping onto a mattress, tossing himself down into the fluffiest of pillows to catch his hard body in a cushion of heaven. His arms stretch wide to encompass the length of the couch back. He even sighs. A long, lush, deep groan of pleasure emits from him while his eyes close for a second. Then he inhales. When his lids flip open, he spears me in place. That does not stop my mouth.

“Look, handsome, this is my spot. Everyone knows it’s my spot. Think Norm in Cheers, where everybody knows his name. This is where I sit.” I shouldn’t have called him handsome. He probably already knows he is. In fact, I’m certain he knows he’s good-looking. I don’t know how he even faces himself in the mirror every morning. He’s that good-looking.

“I’m curious if everyone is always glad you came . . .” His eyes narrow at me, and I ignore the emphasis he’s put on a certain term. I will not fall for these kinds of wordplay games, nor will I falter under the curl of his sassy mouth. Even the crinkle of his nose as he annunciated that word was hot.

“Of course, they’re always glad I’m here, occupying my spot.” My voice hardens as my fists clench at my sides. I’ve had a day, and I just want to sit in my happy place and sip some coffee. Is the Busy Bean the most convenient spot for me to haunt? No, it is not, but I’ve been to worse places—been there, done that—and I will not be going back. I live halfway between Colebury and Montpelier, where my law office is located, and coming here is out of my way most days. But today is one of those days when I need my spot and a good cup of dark roast, and I do not need this hunky, smirky, sexy silver fox glaring back at me or his fine backside taking up residency on my couch.

Get a grip, Rita.

Technically, I don’t own the couch or the right to claim this space as mine. The Busy Bean Café is owned and operated by Audrey Shipley and Zara Rossi, both excellent businesswomen. They’ve taken this quaint location on the old gin mill property and made it into something special. With brick-red walls and chalkboard painted beams overhead, the creaking wooden floors and eclectic mixture of furniture begs a person to come in and linger, which is what I do—often. Not to mention, the coffee is divine. The dark roast is a special blend introduced to the place a while back and the addition of delicious cupcakes on the menu from Oh, For Heaven’s Cakes makes this place more than just a coffeehouse. It’s heaven in Vermont.

It’s my heaven, and the devil himself is sitting here.

Jake Drummond is his name, actually, but that’s semantics to me. He’s quickly becoming a huge thorn in my side.

RELEASE BLITZ: Playing with Words by Kelly Elliott

Playing with Words by Kelly Elliott is now live!

Hudson Higgins had fond memories of Boggy Creek from his childhood. So what better place to escape New York City for a few weeks to finish up a book that was nearing deadline than the small town in New Hampshire his parents visited nearly every summer.

What he couldn't have known was how his life would be turned upside down when he walked into Greer Larson's bookstore his first day in town.

Greer Larson lived a quiet life in her hometown of Boggy Creek. She had worked nearly her whole adult life to make her dreams of owning her bookstore come true--and now, Turning Pages was her everything. She lived, eat, and breathed the success of owning her own business.

That is, until a stranger came to town and showed Greer that there was more to life than simply working. A friendship between Greer and Hudson quickly formed over their love of books and the outdoors.

When Greer's bookstore is threatened, Hudson soon realizes he hasn't simply fallen for the charm of Boggy Creek and Greer, he'd fallen in love...with both the town, and the woman who stole his heart from the moment she first smiled at him.

Playing with Words is book two in the Boggy Creek Valley series and is a stand alone novel.
