BLOG TOUR:GenPop by Lani Lynn Vale

Gen Pop

Souls Chapel Revenants MC Book 6

Lani Lynn Vale

Release Date: August 10, 2021

About the Book

Hangry: adjective—feeling irritable or irrationally angry as a result of being hungry.

Sometimes, Crockett felt that in her soul.

And, of course, the one time that she’s being ‘irrationally angry’ would be the time that the hottest guy on the continent walked into her place of business dressed in prison orange.

She should’ve been afraid.

She should’ve taken one look at him and walked the other way.

But, she didn’t.

Crockett Archer, better known as a doormat extraordinaire, didn’t walk away from the people she knew needed her. She’d never been able to do it with a father that didn’t love her, and she wouldn’t be able to do it with a man that didn’t think he deserved a chance at love.

One look is all it takes for Zach Caruso to know that Crockett could be his.

All he would have to do is snap his fingers, and she’d fall right into the palm of his hand.

Which is why Zach turns around and walks far, far away.

He tries not to look back.

He tries to leave her be.

But then he sees how she’s treated by the people that are supposed to love her, and all cognitive thoughts seem to flee his rational brain.

One second, he’s running in the opposite direction. The next, he’s playing her knight in dingy armor.

God help her.

Another fun story in a series I am really enjoying.
Crockett I loved this girl but my god she sure drew the short straw in the family department. They seriously SUCKED!
I have wanted Zach's story and LLV did not disappoint! He irritated me with his not good enough for her attitude. When he finally got his head out of his a$$ the love story started and I didn't want to stop reading. And his family? AWESOME  but long time readers already knew that.
A bit of drama gave the excited climax that I have come to expect from this author.
Cannot wait for the next one! This series has a great cast of characters.

RELEASE BLITZ: THEN YOU SAW ME by Carrie Aarons

Then You Saw Me by Carrie Aarons is now live!

You know what's guaranteed to send your heart into your throat? Opening the front door of your off-campus house to find the boy you had a crush on all through high school telling you he's the new subletter.

Of course, he barely knew I existed back then, and still doesn't even though we attend the same university. But in a house of six college kids, it should be easy to remain invisible while carrying a torch for him. After all, I'm skilled at being overlooked and playing second fiddle.

Except Austin Van Hewitt, my hometown's golden boy, doesn't get the memo. After we throw our first party of the year, I'm on his radar and somehow my lips miraculously end up on his. The budding romance is one I've always dreamt about. As he shows more and more interest, I push aside the plaguing insecurity of never being good enough.

But then a letter shows up in our mailbox. A time capsule I wrote to myself when I was fifteen. You know, the kind where a teacher sends it to you years later? Guess who opens it by mistake and reads all about how I plan on marrying him and having his babies one day? Did I mention I signed it using his last name?

Mortifying would be an understatement. After he starts pulling away, I'm once again the girl in the background hoping that someone will understand me enough to pay me all of their attention.

The old me, the one conditioned to settle for what she's given, would back down. This time, though, if I want everything I almost held in my hands, I'll have to speak up. I'll have to admit exactly how I feel, fight for the love that was blossoming. And I'm not sure what's scarier; voicing my inner thoughts or facing his ultimate rejection.

When I read the blurb for Then You Saw Me by Carrie Aarons I knew i would enjoy it. Ms. Aarons has a flair for New Adult romance - just enough drama to make me think "where was this when i was in college?" but not too much that the storyline is over the top and unrealistic.

When Taya’s roommate leaves for a reality show, she finds out Austin has been invited to sublet the room. No biggie, right? Except he was her biggest crush through high school. Taya hasn’t seen him in years and she has mostly moved on with her life. Mostly.

The awkwardness of their relationship, roommate/crush, holds the perfect amount of sexual tension and confusion. And then comes the letter. Ooof.

Family drama surrounds both Taya and Austin, compounding their issues.  But as always in an Aarons' novel, we get to see an evolution occur - both in the love story but also in character development. I loved how Austin and Taya changed throughout the story - they both grew more confident in themselves which helps along the storyline.

I would definitely recommend Then You Saw Me for an entertaining read. I can't wait to see who comes next in The Prospect Street series.

Author of romance novels such as Fool Me Twice and Love at First Fight, Carrie Aarons writes books that are just as swoon-worthy as they are sarcastic. A former journalist, she prefers the love stories of her imagination, and the athleisure dress code, much better.

When she isn't writing, Carrie is busy binging reality TV, having a love/hate relationship with cardio, and trying not to burn dinner. She's a Jersey girl living in Texas with her husband, daughter, son, and Great Dane/Lab rescue.

RELEASE BLAST: THE TROUBLE WITH #9 by Piper Rayne

Release Date: August 10

Trouble.

One word that comes to mind when someone talks about me. I like to think of it as protection, watching out for the ones I love. But now I’m spending more time in the penalty box than on the ice and the team owner isn’t happy.

Finding myself across the room from the hot therapist I kissed on New Year’s Eve only makes me push my problems down further. I want couch time with her but not the kind she’s used to.

I decide to lie to her just to finish off my therapy so I can do what I really want—date her—even if she says she doesn’t date hockey players. Just when my therapy sessions are up and I’ve made some headway with Paisley, it’s my parents who throw another wrench in my plans.

If I abide by my parent’s wishes to marry the one they’ve chosen, I’ll lose Paisley forever. But if I go against my parents, I’m failing my deceased best friend all over again.

I am going to be honest I am not a hockey fan, not because I don't like but because I don't know it. Well this series may change that. Piper Rayne has created a group of guys that I love!!
This one really tugged at my heart strings our hero was dealing with a heavy load of guilt and it was affecting his game.
Our heroine is the new team therapist who is going to help his on ice anger issue.
Oh can we say forbidden!! I am in!!
I loved their story!! They were awesome together. She brought out a sweet swoonworthy teddy bear side of our angry Russian hockey player.
BUT all is not perfect and his issues (personal and family) got in the way. A story that made me laugh and brought a few tears unfolded.
Can't wait for the next one it's going to be FUN!

Such an awesome story!! When I saw Heidi wrote a Beaumont spinoff, I knew I was going to read it. Then I saw it was a sports romance, I knew I had to read it.
A love story that starts a bit l I'm ke an enemies to lovers but it wasn't really.

Our hero's life is a mess and it really is not a good time to start a relationship. BUT the heart wants, what a heart wants.
Our heroine is a saint! Her level of forgiveness is amazing, yet she didn't come across as a sucker. She has an understanding soul.
Single Dad stories are one of my favorites. Especially when you have an adorable little one stealing the show.
The icing on this wonderful cake (book) was catching up with past characters we all love.
I want to Thank and Yell at Heidi McLaughlin. I cried through a fictional football game!

EXCERPT

Everything in the room is white. The couch. The rug. The walls. Even the television has a white border around it. The mantel over the fireplace—white. Same with the picture frames. Everywhere I look, it’s all I see. The living room is supposed to be inviting, welcoming, and yet it feels stressful. I’ve never been the type of person who asks their friends to take off their shoes when they come into their home. I find it rude, but I also respect it if my friends ask me. When you come into my house—well, my soon to be former home—your shoes must be off. Not only off but left outside.
I sit on the couch, with its white pillows, and rest my ankle on my knee. My shoes are on because I’m bitter and angry at the world, the situation I’m in, and my wife. Mostly her, which probably isn’t fair, but her actions have put us in this position.
Elena comes into the room and sighs heavily. I know why and I don’t care. I continue to stare out the window at the blue sky. Elena and I met in college. I was on a full scholarship at the University of Alabama, playing wide receiver, and she worked for my favorite clothing store. I wish I could say it was love at first sight, but it was fear that brought us together. I had been in her store when a tornado warning sounded. Everyone in the store took shelter, except Elena. She stood in the middle of the room with nothing but sheer panic on her face. Her co-workers tried to coax her into the back room, but she was frozen. I went to her, scooped her up, and carried her to the back. She clung to me until the warning was over. The entire time I just talked to her about my life, football, my hopes, and dreams. She told me she moved to Alabama to go to school, but her financial aid fell through, and she was too embarrassed to go home and ask her parents for money. They didn’t want her moving south to begin with, and told her she was making a mistake. She needed to prove them wrong.
After that day, we started hanging out. She’d come to the dorm, help me with my homework, and I’d invite her to games. Our friendship turned romantic a few months later, and after a couple of years of dating, I asked her to marry me. I thought I had found my soulmate. It turns out I was just her meal ticket to stardom.
It’s funny when you’re in a life and death situation. You say a lot of things to the people around you. For me, I’ve always dreamed of playing professional football. I worked my ass off in college to achieve my dream. Elena’s dream was to work in marketing or advertising. That was until we started dating seriously, and her social media skyrocketed. Then, her dream was to become an influencer and eventually a model. I supported each change in her career wholeheartedly because I wanted her to be happy, and I was in love with her. I thought she was in love with me. She told me we had to have a house in Orange County even though we lived in Portland, Oregon. At first, I didn’t understand why but still gave her what she wanted. Everything became clear when some reality TV show about wives announced she was joining the cast. The show was a hit. Her fame grew. And suddenly, she wanted to be an actress. By now, through all of this, we have two children and are splitting our time between Portland, Huntington Beach, her parents in Delaware, and mine in Michigan. An endless cycle of traveling. I tried to talk to her about it. I tried telling her something had to give. At first, she was defensive, telling me I was trying to stifle her creativity. Then she said if I really loved her and the kids, I’d ask for a trade to one of the teams in California. When I told her no, she uttered the word I never thought I’d hear—divorce.
My world was rocked.
