HJ Bellus is back!!
Back with a story that has all the emotion, love and heat.
This book was so sweet, so special. Our couple are total opposites but fit together perfect.  Both a bit broken from their pasts but fix each other in a beautiful way.
I loved that no one or nothing would stop Theo from being with her. He didn't care what people said or thought. He loved our shy lonely girl and made her his number one. 
She simply loved him, he was her everything because before him she had no one.
I am so glad this author is back and can't wait for more.

Another good story full of suspense from Aleatha Romig. 
I was sucked in immediately! A great cast of characters kept glued to my Kindle. As we meet people we see small pieces of a bigger picture that is slowly unveiled. 
I thought I knew where the story was going and it did.
BUT 
I was hit with a turn that had me screaming NO!
Then a twist that had me screaming Well Played Aleatha!!

I love that this author duo writes these little in between novellas. 
Short fun stories that let us catch up with characters from previous books and gives us glimpses of future stories.
I say glimpses but truly they are teases! Evil authors these two!!
Oh the tease in this one is good! The next book is one we have been waiting for since book 1. Now we are getting it and it's going to be GOOD!

Vi never disappoints !

The first time I meet Emmett Harrington I just melt into a puddle and I don’t know what I’m in for 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

So Emmett escalates from Hotel boss to cage fighter / mobster very quickly and my head is spinning and in a good way 😉 Emmett was trying to contain the beast within and it was going pretty well until it didn’t and it was full throttle action from there !

Amber is a plain Jane with a heart that mourns but that doesn’t mean she’s not feisty and I think that’s one of the things that attract Emmett, her honesty ❣️

Emmett and Amber are hot and steamy so keep that tall drink close by 🔥😉

Excerpt

PROLOGUE

I’ve been shot. It feels like fire ravages my body and mind. I try to roll onto my side, but my brain is scrambling and misfiring. From somewhere, I can hear Emmett so clearly, and then the fire rages, boiling the blood in my veins until I wish for death.

If I am alive, being so hurts too much. I say his name, pleading with him, but the anguish doesn’t end. His breathing is close to my face. I want to beg him to make this stop, but I can’t form the words. Then he’s gone, leaving me to die.

Through the pain and heat, light burns my eyes as I blink them open. Past the haze of pain, he’s there, a vision, leaning over me. So perfect. His mouth moves, but there’s no sound. My eyelids flutter closed against the pain that has latched on to me. It grows in intensity until I wish for death again. Cold sweeps in like a raging sea, taking the fire with it and leaving the ice in its wake. I shiver. My body rattles, and I manage to open my eyes.

Emmett’s face fills my view. Blood trickles down from a cut on his head. He’s screaming as men pull at him. I reach for him, and it’s like he’s given me permission to come back to him. He throws the men away from his arms, and he’s there again, his breath on my face, fear in his eyes. 

“I love you. I can’t live without you.” His words give me peace, and I smile; my eyelids grow heavy.

Emmett is moving away from me again, being dragged by Gardaí. His mouth opens in a roar as he tries to push them away. I’m slipping, and everything grows cloudy. He continues to fight, but there are too many of them. They cover Emmett as they take him to the ground. His eyes, so full of pain, are the last thing I see before the cold captures me fully. As my lids close, I realize there’s no more pain. No more anything. 

I’m walking through a field of lilies, and I can hear her sweet little laugh. My heart bursts with joy as I run my hands along the flowers and search for my little girl.

A good slow burn love story!! I loved Josie and Jacob from the first page of this book and I was so happy with how their story went!!

The only down fall for me was that the slow burn of this book was too slow at times for me. But the steam this book let off when those spicy scenes hot… damn!! 

I loved Josie and Everly and Jacob together!! But Josie being a bad ass mom was one of the best parts of this book! Pick up this book and fall for this couple!!

A book by LJ shen is always a good book to read.

This was a addictive, entertaining, slow burn romance that is enemies to lovers.

The characters were childhood friends who bonded over their love of books ….what could go wrong with that?! Things did though. The characters were worlds apart. She was rich and he was poor. So that causes a lot of issues.

The characters and story took over my heart and had me reading non stop. I loved their chemistry and how consuming the whole story was.

I am definitely a fan of second chance romances,  enemies to lovers or even the fake boyfriend trope and if you are as well, I think you will enjoy the latest by Carrie Aarons. 

2 years ago Heather and Campbell had matched up for a few dates.  While Heather was invested, apparently Campbell was not, and he made the fatal error of double booking their date and getting totally busted. 

Cue a summer in the Hamptons with her best friend and Heather is left facing her nemesis. Two years and a lot of hate after that fateful fourth date, Heather is determined to not let Campbell ruin her summer. 

A run in with her unstable and emotionally abusive ex has placed Heather in a horrible position and Campbell just happens to be a witness. One fake boyfriend offer later and their summer is off to a tenuous start.

As always, Aarons provides a wonderfully dramatic storyline with an engaging cast of characters.  A little posh for my non-sofisticated self, it is truly enjoyable to immerse yourself in the plot line and enjoy a different world. This was an engaging read. 

I would also recommend Love at First Fight which features Molly and Smith (another couple from this book). Technically that book came first though, it is not necessary to read it first or even at all.  I just find it fun to have all of the pieces of the puzzle.
