Blog Tour: Christmas with an Alien by Tana Stone

All he wants for Christmas is a mate.

Christmas with an Alien, an all-new laugh-out-loud and steamy, sci-fi romcom from USA Today bestselling author, Tana Stone, is now available!

Caroline isn’t a Scrooge, but the weeks leading to Christmas are not her favorite. The personal shopping department where she works is insanely busy and the clients have crazy requests. Plus, this is her first holiday being single after a bad breakup. When her last appointment of the day is a gorgeous, blue-skinned alien, she isn’t too surprised. After all, everyone knows that aliens are real since a species of interstellar warriors revealed themselves and the fact that they’d been defending Earth for decades.

What does startle Caroline is that Griff isn’t looking for unique Christmas presents. He’s on Earth to find a mate.

Although she reluctantly agrees to help him, finding a bride for an alien isn’t as easy as it might seem, especially when word gets out that the hottie is on the market. Between the alien-obsessed women swiping right on his new dating profiles and the paparazzi dogging them, Griff is no closer to finding a bride. He is much closer to his personal shopper, though. If only she didn’t think loyal guys were as much of a fantasy as flying reindeer.

Can Griff melt the ice in Caroline’s heart and convince her that good things do come in big, blue packages?

Christmas with an Alien is a standalone, sweet and steamy, sci-fi, Christmas, he falls first, romantic comedy. It’s loosely connected to the Tribute Brides of the Drexian Warriors series, but it can be read on its own without having read any books in that series.

Griff

“How much longer until we land?” I glanced at the Drexian pilot in front of me and tried to relax my grip on my knees. I might have spent half of my life in space, but the ships I traversed the galaxy on were considerably larger than the transport that was currently entering the atmosphere of Earth. I was unaccustomed to the bumpy ride of smaller ships, and I was not enjoying the sensations.

“We’re almost there.” The dark-haired alien craned his neck around to give me a grin. “The jumps were the hard part.”

I nodded, doing my best not to think about the jumps through space that had shortened the trip from the Drexian space station. My stomach was still in my throat from being tugged through the fabric of space.

“I thought Valorians were great sky wanderers,” the Drexian copilot said, as he eyed me. “You don’t look so good back there.”

I doubted the alien knew what an ill Valorian looked like, since our skin was blue and rarely changed hues, even when we did have the urge to heave all over the pristine, black floor of a space vessel. “I am fine. I am just eager to arrive.”

“Shopping, right?”

I cut my gaze to the Drexian seated next to me who had asked the question. He’d seemed friendly when we’d boarded the transport on the station’s hangar bay, but I remembered that he was one of the Drexians who worked with the tribute bride program. Even now, he held a tablet in his hands as he scanned quickly through images of females.

“I don’t blame you.” He sighed without looking up. “This is the best time of year to shop on Earth.”

I put my hand in my pocket, touching the small device that contained the reason I was visiting the human world. “I am interested in procurement. I have a list.”

“I hope so, if you’re going to go shopping in New York City at Christmastime.” The copilot let out a low whistle. “From what I hear, the place can be a mad house.”

I blinked at the back of his head. A mad house? I did not wish to go to any place that contained the insane. “I do not want to visit mad houses.”

“If it’s your first time on Earth, you might need some help.” The Drexian next to me straightened as the transport shuddered and dropped below the clouds. “I’d be happy to play tour guide for you, but I have to meet with some new tribute bride candidates. For some reason, a large number of our applicants have requested Christmas weddings, which means I don’t have much time to finalize the selection process and return them to the station to be matched.”

Even though I wasn’t Drexian, I was familiar with their tribute bride program, where they matched human females to Drexian warriors in need of a mate, brought them to their holographically enhanced space station and put them in fantasy suites, and then treated to dream weddings in space. For decades, the Drexians had conducted the program with the permission of the Earth governments but not with the knowledge of the public, but after the program was made public—called the Reveal—Earth had adapted to the knowledge and females had been clamoring to be chosen for the program. The Drexians success with the tribute brides was the reason I was on my way to Earth.

“Do not worry about me,” I said. “I am sure I will adapt to Earth.”

His dark brow lifted. “You say that because you’ve never been to New York the week before Christmas.”

“What is a Christmas?”

Well, I have to admit this was an enjoyable story. The characters were well-written and it was easy to imagine yourself in this situation. Aliens coming to Earth, to meet their mate does have a nice ring to it. Although it seems as if they could be better informed about Earth Culture. I did enjoy the relationship between the two main characters. Caroline and Griff are the cutest couple and I love the whole part with the Drag Queens, it added a nice element of fun.
If you love a story with a HEA and the wonder and magic of Christmas then this is the story for you. I read it in one day and enjoyed it thoroughly! Enjoy the read!
