My Review

Rating: 4.5 Groupie Stars
So, yeah….It’s stories like this that make it very obvious why I’m a reader and not a writer.  I have no idea what to say! I was so excited when this book showed up on my kindle but then I finished Tacet a Mortuis and I’m still in the same suspended ball of suspense I was before I read it. Honestly though?  It’s what I’ve come to expect with any series by Amo Jones, especially the Elite Kings Series. Following The Silver Swan and The Broken Puppet this is only the third book in a THIRTEEN BOOK SERIES! The feeling of suspense and mind fuckery isn’t going anywhere…and the weird part is I love it!

The story is captivating. One of my strange little quirks requires me to read all of the prior books in a series before I read the new release.  This is especially helpful with Jones’ books due to the complexity of details and their ability to mess with your mind and the fact that the author doesn’t backtrack into past books.  From the first page I was hooked and couldn’t put the book down. I will admit with the first two books I needed to set them down, walk away and think before continuing on…This one? Nope…I devoured that sucker!  I really enjoyed the new dynamic in this book with being able to read from Bishop’s point of view.  I feel like it added a whole new level to the reading experience.  I always love dual perspective books as they give a more in depth look into the characters.

A few times I caught myself with a WTF? or a What the Hell? But, one thing that is important to note is that Amo Jones always has a reason for what she writes.  This is just another reminder that the Elite Kings are a 13 book series! You can’t write that many books along a storyline without setting up the foundation for future plot lines.  You’ll see what I mean when you read TaM.  That being said? This book definitely leaves the reader with new questions to add to my laundry list of ones that have not been answered.
I know that Amo Jones has several other projects going right now (because I read ALL of her books!)  but I’m really hoping to see this series progress a little faster.  (Just a little math calculation….3 books in 14 months = 4.6 months X 10 more books = 46.6 months.  That’s almost 4 more years of bated breath, anticipation and mind fuckery and I can't wait!

About Amo Jones

Amo Jones is a small country girl totally winging this author thing (she's probably doing it all wrong). She likes cake, loves wine, and her religion is magic. She's a profound work-a-holic, but when she's not writing, you can find her chilling with her kids & partner at the nearest beach, with a cocktail in her hand.
New Zealand is not a state of Australia and rugby is the best sport ever played.
