I went into this one completely blind and I was sobbing within the first page. Sutton’s story is so sad and gut wrenching. She is the youngest Wright and has suffered the lose of her husband. She is now trying to build a life for her and their son. This story hit close to home for me; I knew first hand what Sutton was going through and how hard it is to try to move on but not replace. True to KA form this book has just the right blend of sweetness, romance, drama, and angst.
I have fallen in love with the Wright family and Sutton is my favorite. She was so relatable; I felt every emotion she was going through. I loved celebrating her victories as she tried to rebuild her life. David is the CFO at her family business. He steps onto the scene as a friend and seems to be the only person who understands what she is going through and doesn’t say the typical things people say when a loved one dies. Her son loves him too. In short he was darn near perfect. They had a good friendship going. I was turning pages to see how their relationship would grow. And in the end KA hit me with the mother of all angst and drama leaving me needing Book two now!
K.A. Linde is the USA Today bestselling author of more than fifteen novels including the Avoiding series and the Record series. She has a Masters degree in political science from the University of Georgia, was the head campaign worker for the 2012 presidential campaign at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and served as the head coach of the Duke University dance team.
