Cruel Money is the first book in Cruel series and Ms. Linde has definitely started it with an angst filled bang. This crew of friends are something else. I loved trying to figure them out. You never knew who was being sincere or who was just trying to win a bet.
Penn and Natalie had a past and when they run into each other again the sparks fly. They come from different worlds but that doesn’t seem to make a difference to them. Once they get reacquainted them seem to form a strong bond.
In the beginning Penn was a bit of a player but as the story progressed he grew on me. Natalie was unique and strong from the get go, she’s the type of girl everyone wants to be friends with. The rest of the crew was hard to figure out but each one added something special to the plot. I can’t wait to get my hands on the next book.
