I was t expecting this story. I’m so used to her type of stories she writes and I love them and re read them numerous times. This new universe though was exciting to get in to. 
Blake and penny were a roller coaster together. I never knew what was going to happen which was so exciting. I loved the flashbacks but the emotions in it caught me off guard but in such a good way.

This is a spinoff of the Smokeshow series. I loved everything about this book. Rumor was distrusting of men and rightfully so after what she’s been through. King is determined to only be her friend but show her how she should be treated. 

This book was a quick read for me. I devoured it in one night. I couldn’t get enough of it. It has twists and turns to keep you guessing how it will all turn out. I cannot wait for the next book.

Smileys gym was run by Ati’s dad and when he passed she inherits it and she runs it with Frankie ( Freakshow) by her side , the gym is in trouble and they cross over from boxing to MMA to rescue to the gym and Ari approaches Bones to join their gym , she needs a brilliant fighter and he needs a second chance …..

Frankie adored Ari’s dad and he’s loyal to Ari and I’m sure she’s the only person he loves and loves her he does and these 2 have a strange relationship but it works for them and things get really interesting when we grow Bones and Lotto into the mix 🔥

Bones was at the top of his game when he made a mess of things and nobody wants to touch him , he needs a second chance and he needs money , his dad is sick and fighting for his life so when an opportunity comes his way he can’t pass it up ….

Oh be still my beating heart ! It feels like I can breathe again ! Just bring in Sweetbriar amongst friends and family has recharged my batteries 🥰😉

Ash Lynn is a real firecracker and sometimes it gets her into trouble but at least you always know where you stand with her 😉

Ashlynn has a challenging day at work at it ends with her getting fired but I say it’s a blessing in disguise she wasn’t happy in the first place and her boss wasn’t the nicest person and seemed to have in for Ashlynn from the start and that becomes evident when she accuses her of arson !? This after Ashlynn and Billie gets a loan to start up their own business , I smell a rat ….
I just wanted to give her a piece of mind , I did , and I got some strange looks from those around me 🤣 anyhoo Ashlynn has a good support system and through the tough time they’re there ……


Reid is back in town and working through the ranks at the local firehouse and he has his hands full , literally and figuratively with Ashlynn 🤣🙈😉🔥

Oh it was so good to be amongst my people in Firewed , Alaska again , it’s just what my heart and soul needed 📖❣️

So McKenna is on ferry for hot her brother’s wedding and she ends up with a blue eye 🤣🙈look it wasn’t on purpose Jack opened the door not knowing she was on the other side and well let’s just say they met by accident 🤣🙈😉( they know each other though) and it makes for a good story to tell later when folks ask how they met 😉🥰

McKenna is a little more than weary because of who her family is and everything that’s gone on in the past she wants people to see McKenna for who she is not what they can benefit from her so Jack has his work cut out for him …..

Jack has his own issues with relationships because he’s a hotshot firefighter and he’s got his dick brother ek he feels he can’t add romance to the equation but he’s sooooooo wrong and then we add the surprise family member and the fight is on for live and survival….

The verbal sparing between these two was something else! I loved the banter so dang much! This story had me Turing pages well into the night when it popped up on my kindle! 

This story has everything! Drama, cue ex-wife entrance, loving and supportive friends and so much love!! I can’t wait for the next chapter in this great series!!

Can you say anger management!

Our hero definitely needed it. Not that he didn't have a right to be angry and hurt.

(Our couple have a past together that did not end pretty.)

The Problem was his short fuse and letting things fester by not talking.

Our heroine was WRONG in the past but not by fault of her own.

When all is said in done this was a great second chance story. Our couple battled through and found the love they once had but now it is a mature beautiful love.

So I seriously LOVE this authors Steel family books.

But this book may have topped them.

I couldn't get enough, I didn't want to stop reading.

I started and on a Sunday night, stayed up way too late reading, read while getting ready for work and thought about the characters and their story all day until I could get home.

Loved this story SO MUCH!!
Our hero was a bad boy or so everyone in town labeled him. EXCEPT our heroine. She saw the good in him.
The story that followed was everything I love in a romance.
Yes I enjoyed the steamy love story but my favorite parts were the interactions with a precious little girl.
The love they have for each other made me smile.
The little family they created after hard circumstances melted my heart.
Then it changed and it fell apart my heart broke and I cried paragraph after paragraph tears rolled down my face.
But Thank goodness this is a Tia Louise book because she gave me a wonderful epilogue that made everything PERFECT!

I love both these authors books but together there dynamite.
I’m not sure if I’ve ever read a book like this before as although Zachary was someone who always gets what he wants, But he is not a man whore. He is still a virgin and he’s never kissed anyone. Normally in books there always man whores whose slept around but I loved this was flipped on its head which I found refreshing. 
Farrow is someone I loved she was very strong, sweet and caring who fitted perfectly with Zachary.
The book was hilarious. I laughed through the whole book again which was refreshing to all the series books I normally read

Well, that was a great first book from a new-to-me author! I now understand why I see so many social media posts about Helena Hunting's books.  This book had me laughing out loud and even gave me a bit of a gut punch at one point, so well-deserved 5 stars from me. 

Hunting definitely hit all of my fave aspects of the enemies to lovers, brother's best friend, forbidden romance, and sports romance tropes.  And as an added bonus, Rix/Bea and Tristan are explosive together (in one way or another). They are either arguing or adding to the explicit, and often fairly dirty, sex scenes and both are entertaining to read.

I love the relationship depth, both between the MCs but also the secondary characters.  I feel that always adds to the story and makes me crave more. This is a well-written and entertaining story and I can't wait to read more of H. Hunting's work.
