Hush, Hush was a unique forbidden, steamy and unputdownable novel. I've not read anything as unique all year. The book wasn't just any ordinary read. It was very intense, thought provoking and addictive as they come.
The synopsis gives NOTHING away at all so I went in to the book completely blind which I think was for the best n is I've finished the book. It was nothing like I expected and I'm glad I went in to not having any idea about it.
There was things I liked about the book and I could tell the author had tried very hard to make this book forbidden and unique but there was also things I didn't like about it and couldn't get my head around. I couldn't understand why James who is married with kids could go off with his daughters friend and think it was ok and have no concerns about the ramifications of his actions. Also there was just far to much sex in the book for me. I felt like the whole book was over taken by sex (very kinky sex) and left little room for the story.
Aubrey was not a character you could easily like either. I found nothing about her likable. I no you was meant to hate her but I wish there would of been slightly more about her to like.
The book was slow to start with but did pick up about 60%. At that point I did find myself hooked to the story wanting answers of how it was going to end.
I'm torn between liking the book and disliking it as there's bits I liked and bits I didn't like.
I am a fan of the author and liked she tried writing something different that was intriguing and forbidden but the book just wasn't for me really.
