    Not gonna lie, I rely on books by Amo Jones to fill my desire for dark, dirty and twisted.  She has perfected the art of mindfuckery and I LOVE IT. 

Sicko fits Jones's writing style to a T, yet it felt different to me.  While the darkness usually borders a fantastical edge, this was rooted more in horrifying reality. There is so much more to this storyline and I didn't want it to end. Also, I want to beg for this standalone to turn into a duet (Hello, Wicked!)

Raised as foster siblings and then separated for four years, Royal and Jade have their own issues to overcome. Both twisted, yet full of grit, their brand of love and loyalty makes the reader fall in love with them. 

That being said, in true Jones fashion, Sicko is not all hearts and rainbows. Normally Jones's books don't come with a trigger warning, but Sicko does.  There are some pretty...brutal and graphic scenes that can make even a dark romance fan squirm. Be aware that this shouldn't be the first ever dark romance you read because, wooooow.  (But, it wont be the last for me!)  Blurb: He was my foster brother. He swore to protect me. He failed.
