Review of King-Sized Beds and Happy Trails by Becca Ann and Tessa Marie

Title: King Sized Beds and Happy Trails
 (Book One)
Author: Cassie Mae
Reviewer: Rebecca
Rating:  4 Groupies Stars

Lexie Boggs needs out of her house… away from her alcoholic mother and far away from the “white trash” label that’s been smacked across her chest. She’s saved every penny from her multiple jobs so she can dart out of there as soon as she graduates. But there's something else she wants so badly she's willing to spend every dime she has. Her senior class trip and the chance to seduce the senior hottie, Sean Dixon.

Ryan Parker knows how much college means to his best friend, Lexie. He also knows Sean is a player on a search for how many girls he can get in his bed. So instead of letting Lexie drain out her piggy bank, he forks out the dough to get her on the senior ski trip. Not only because she’s his best friend, but because he’s face-planted in love with her.

When Ryan and Lexie get jammed in the same cabin, with one king-sized bed and a whole lot of history, Ryan fights to keep his feelings hidden, while Lexie discovers some of hers.

"Do you think I'll ever find the rabbit to my hat?"

Cute, funny, light hearted read that took me back to my high school years.  Oh, to be that age again and all the firsts that teenagers go through.

Lexi has had a HUGE crush on Sean since she can remember and she is determined that since it is her senior year, she will get him.  Through the help of her best friend Ryan, Lexi is able to afford to go on the senior trip and hopefully get the man of her dreams while she's there.  But who knew a week long trip would change her feelings for her best friend from platonic to more.  Lexi is confused by her feelings for Ryan and can't fathom that she deserves such a great guy in her life.

"Slowly he turns to me until I am looking into the soft brown eyes of the boy who always catches me when I fall."
"I'm messed up.  There's no other way to describe it.  I'm a moron who's in love with his best friend and can't tell her about it."

Ryan has been in love with Lexi for years but has kept it a secret in fear of losing her friendship.  He has been helping Lexi "catch" the guy of her so-called dreams all year and is fed up with hiding his feelings.  While on their senior trip he decides he is going to tell her how he feels and hopes for the best.  But not everything ever goes as planned, does it.  Can Ryan fix his mistake or will he be sleeping in his king sized bed by himself?

"You shattered a girl's hopes in you being the only one who was different.  I'd say you have a lot of work ahead of you."

Ryan and Lexi's story was sweet and endearing.  You couldn't help but root for Ryan the entire time and wait for Lexi to finally realize who she wanted was really right in front of her.  He tried really hard to be just her best friend and help her any way that he could to get the guy she had a crush on and was always there if she ever needed him for anything, even if he didn't agree.  Her friend Kaylee certainly added to the mix with her antics and was always there for Lexi to help her.  I can't wait to read the next book in the series!!!

"Because it was true, right now you'd need more than a kiss. Falling in love is more than kissing.  So much more."

Cassie Mae (AKA Becca Ann) is a nerd to the core from Utah, who likes to write about other nerds who find love. Her angel children and perfect husband fan her and feed her grapes while she clacks away on the keyboard. Then she wakes up from that dream world and manages to get a few words on the computer while the house explodes around her. When she’s not writing, she’s spending time with the youth in her community as a volleyball and basketball coach, or searching the house desperately for chocolate.

Theresa Paolo lives in the same town she grew up in Long Island, NY with her boyfriend and Milton, their big eyed goldfish. She has a hard time accepting the fact she’s nearing thirty which is why she writes New Adult and Young Adult books, reliving the best and worst years of her life through her characters. She put her love of writing on hold while she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing from Dowling College. On November 11th 2011 at 11:11 she made a wish. Two hours later she was laid off. Jobless for the first time since she was sixteen she was determined to make her wish come true. Writing became her life again and after many nights of ignoring her boyfriend to spend time with her characters, she finally received the call that all her hard work, finger crossing and eye crossing paid off. She was getting published. When she’s not writing, she’s behind a camera or can be found in the blogosphere or on Twitter, Pinterest and Facebook. She is repped by the amazing Brittany Booker of The Booker Albert Literary Agency.
