When River’s already
broken life shattered further on her sixteenth birthday, she was forced
to be with the wrong best friend of her brothers. She was meant for
Sammy but circumstance and black mail forced her into a relationship
with Danny, a troubled, abusive partner. Leaving the only boy she ever
loved to flee. Now four years later he has returned. When her feelings
and missing parts of herself that left with him return also, loyalty,
restraint and love will be tested. Can she find a way to leave the
threatening clutches of Danny, to finally be saved by her childhood
love? Or will Danny’s hold on her tighten when more life shattering
events consume their already troubled lives?
When Sammy returns home, after four years of being away from the girl that broke his heart, he’s not prepared for all his old feelings to force their way straight back into his heart. Questions that were left unasked when he left begin to plague him, when the sudden relationship between River and Danny all those years ago seems all the more confusing now. Secrets, mistrust and Danny’s possessive behaviour sends up red flags and Sammy begins doubting himself for leaving in the first place. When the spark between Sammy and river finally ignites it will leave explosive consequences for everyone.

I have to say that I freakin loved this book. Why I didn't purchase this one before, is beyond me, but I loved it!
River
has been saving herself for the love of her life, Sammy. She planned
on giving herself to him on her 16th birthday. Sammy is her next door
neighbor and her brother's best friend. River has loved Sammy since the
day he moved in next door and became her brother's best friend.
One fateful night Danny showed up at the wrong time
and due to that night, River's dreams were shattered. If Danny would
never had showed up, Sammy would never had left.
Once Sammy see's that River chooses Danny, he decides to leave and is
gone for four years, which leaves River broken. Sammy has loved River
and was planning on showing her how much he loved her on her 16th
birthday. They were both looking forward to that. But Danny beat him
to it and took her virginity from her when all she was doing was saving
herself for Sammy.
River has been broken ever since Sammy left.
Sammy has been broken ever since River chose Danny over him. River had
no choice but to choose Danny, she's afraid of him and does what he
asks of her, he scares her and she has lived in fear of him since he
possessed her. Danny has had a sick obsession with River and won't let
her go. He controls her and will do whatever he can to keep her. River
hates Danny but is only with him because of what he holds over her and
her brother, Blaydon.
The only thing that helps River forget is her
dancing. She emerges herself with dancing and goes to the studio
whenever she has the opportunity to go, that's the one thing that Danny
did not take away from her. Now that Sammy is back after 4 years, what
will happen between them?
I have to say that I loved the characters in this
book and I especially love how she grew a back bone towards the end and
stood up to Danny. Danny was a douche bag and he got what he deserved.
I'm happy that things worked out the way they did in the end, I'm
looking forward to reading the next book because I'm anxious to find out
what happens next.
I definitely give it 5 stars!!
