Blog Tour for Beautiful Failure by Mariah Cole

Title: Beautiful Failure
Author: Mariah Cole
Genre: New Adult
Publication Date:December 17, 2013

If you're looking for a heartwarming story about a girl who falls deeply in love with a troubled boy who changes her life--a sob story with pretty metaphors and a million ways that'll tell you how "broken" she is, STOP. Don't read another word of this.

I'm not that type of girl.

My name is Emerald Anderson and I'm not going to bullshit you: I flunked out of college after my sophomore year, I've been fired from every job I've ever taken, and I've never had a fully functioning relationship in my life.

I wish I could say that I had a cheerleader in my corner, someone who says, "No, Emerald--You're great and you are good at something!" but I don't. My grandparents are completely oblivious to my life, and my mother's dying words to me were "You're going to end up just like me one day. A beautiful nothing."

She was right.

As I decide to start my life over and take two jobs that will forever change me--one from the inside, and one from the outside, I keep my mother's words close to my heart so I can keep the sexy and mysterious Carter Black away.

He's the first man who's ever pursued me, the first man who seems bent on finding out why I am the way I am, but he's wasting his time.

I'm not broken. I don't need to be fixed. I'm perfectly fine being a beautiful failure...

Well to start off with the thought provoking anonymous quote was brilliant ! Thank you Mariah Cole

So we go from thought provoking to in your face ....the first line of chapter one "My mother was a whore" totally from one dimension to another !

Emerald sounds like Snow White with her porcelain skin ,green eyes and raven hair but she's far from it! She's bitter and resentful and one can't really blame her. She never knew her father and well her mom leaves much to be desired and when life just became to much she committed suicide , leaving Emerald all alone.

Emerald is a bright girl and after her mother's death she goes and lives with het grandparents where she attends college but sadly after a really nasty incident caused by a jealous roomate Emerald experiences a downward spiral in life .....

At the recommendation of her friend checks iend she goes and out "The Phoenix" despite what happens in there I respect and appreciate that they knew she had a problem with alcohol and the way they handle it and her is just amazing !

At the Phoenix she meets up with Carter ♡ I think she's met her match ! He handles her jibes and sarcasm with such ease , I'm so curios as to what's going to unold betwern these 2 !.........

Here's where my ★★★ becomes a ★★★★ Carter gets a breakthrough with Emerald and they start talking books

Carter is so patient with Emerald and her temperament, most men would've given up by now.

Now a piece of my heart belongs to Carter.......the gift in the red box ...OMW I would've jumped his bones there and then # naughty giggle #

Cater knows how to handle Emerald and slowly he gets her to open up and share and come out of shell.

At the end of the day I found Beautiful Failure to be brutally honest....not only did it bring awareness to alcoholics but it also reminded one that all is not as it seems . Emerald thought her mom took no interest in her when in actual fact she was so proud of her

The ending was a beautiful cliffhanger ! Looking forward to "Beautiful Temptation"

 ★★★★
