Review of On My Knees by Meredith Wild

TITLE: ON MY KNEES
AUTHOR: Meredith Wild
Rating: 5 Groupie Stars
Reviewer: Lorena

Haunted by the responsibility of caring for her troubled family, Maya Jacobs gave the only answer she could when Cameron asked her to marry him. Years later, entrenched in a soulless professional routine, she distracts herself from the lingering regret of her decision with a “work hard, play hard” lifestyle that guarantees no man will ever find his way into her heart again.

Cameron Bridge has spent the past five years married to the military, trying to escape the painful memory of losing Maya. After fighting his own war in the desert, he starts a new life in New York City, with his siblings, Olivia and Darren, by his side.

When fate brings Maya back to him in the heart of a city filled with its own hopes and shadows, can Cameron find the girl he once loved in the woman she’s become?

This book started off just perfect for me, it caught me starting from page 1 and I loved, loved how hot the sex was starting from the beginning of this book.

Maya's life is Cameron, she loves him so much but when he proposes she turns him down because of her mother.  She felt like she had the obligation to take care of her and knew that getting married wasn't the time.  When Cameron walks out of her life, she struggled to get through schooling but managed it and moved to NYC.  She drowns her sorrows with booze and doesn't give any man her heart after what happened with Cameron, he really tore her heart apart.  She is afraid that if she gives her heart to anyone again she won't be able to survive.

Cameron has himself deployed to two wars all because he was heartbroken after Maya turned down his proposal for marriage.  He almost gets himself killed and his sister Olivia, who was good friends with Maya withdraws herself from Maya because she fears for Cameron that he will get himself killed out in the wars.  When Cameron's time is up with the military, he moves to NYC with his brother and sister and opens up a gym.  Although he hasn't seen Maya in five years, he still can't get her out of his mind and heart.

Maya and Cameron end up meeting once again after five years and they start to get to know each other again.  Cameron knows his feelings for Maya are still strong and he still loves her, but does Maya feel the same?  She has these emotions that feel like you're on a roller coaster.  One day she's all happy and on top of the world when she's with Cameron and other times she's down and depressed and doesn't want to be around him.

Will their love survive a second time around?  Will Cameron hold on and fight for her and with her to have her open up to him and give him a second chance?  He knows he's the cause of her problems but he wants to make it right this time.  Will Maya let him in, will she give him another chance?  Can she trust him to keep his promise this time around and not break her heart a second time?

On My Knees is full of surprises, it will have you mad, happy and crying all together and you will feel it all as you go through the motions in this book.

Meredith Wild doesn't fail to amaze me and has pulled it off with this book once again.  I have to say this was a 5 star read for me and I hope it will be for you too!

USA Today bestselling author, Meredith, Wild picked up her first romance novel at the tender age of twelve. Shortly after, she put pen to word processor and made her first attempt at writing a love story inspired by those she so enjoyed reading well past her bedtime.

Her dream of writing took a back seat to college, parenthood and eventually entrepreneurship, which led her into the fast-paced high tech industry. With enough life experience to fill a few lifetimes, she now devotes her hours to writing contemporary adult romance with a hint of kink.

When she isn’t writing or mothering, Meredith can be found sunbathing with an adult beverage.
