Review for Broken by K. Webster

Andi has the perfect life. She is about to graduate with an Architecture degree and marry her-All American baseball star-fiancé. When she catches him in bed with another woman, her world is turned upside down. Left to pick up the pieces of her shattered life, she takes on a new persona—a promiscuous one. This new role protects her heart from ever being broken again.

Andi now lives by a set of rules. The game? Sex with a new pawn every weekend. Every Friday, she sets her sight on a new sexy, successful man to play along—no strings attached, please. When Monday rolls around, she kicks them to the curb and moves on. It has helped her get through the pain of her past—that is, until she meets Jackson.

The mysterious Jackson is excited to play her game. He too has had his heart broken in the past and isn’t looking for a repeat. Eventually, hearts get involved and Andi wonders if the game is still worth playing.

Will she look for a new pawn or will she break the rules with Jackson?

I received a complimentary copy from the author for an honest review.

This was a scintillating story that had me captivated since the beginning of the story.  I have to say that it was very hard to put this book down once I started it.

Broken is a story about Andi and Jackson.  Andy has decided to live life dangerously after she catches her fiance in bed with another woman.  He really broke her heart and she was suffering from this since she was so in love with him.  After her therapist suggests she start doing things to occupy her time other than having Brayden on her mind, she decides to take photography as a hobby and also start having flings, very short flings like weekend flings.  She is avoiding getting her heart broken again so this is the only way to go with her.

Jackson is a handsome guy with a really bad temper.  He has the looks that make women drool over him.  But Jackson also has a pretty broken past and he also isn't looking for a commitment and is trying to just have fun himself.  Just like Andi, he is also just guarding his heart and preventing it from being broken again.

When Andi and Jackson meet at a bar they decide to have a game that is just for the weekend and boy what a weekend that was.  They thought they'd never cross paths again after their weekend fling is up, but boy were they wrong.  When Monday comes around and Andi walks into her new job, she finds out that Jackson is going to be one of her bosses and boy was that awkward!  Not only is it being awkward to work for Jackson but then she comes to find out that she's also going to be working for Brayden, her ex-boyfriend who broke her heart.

Even though Brayden left her broken, she has decided to start opening up for Jackson because she has realized that Jackson means more to her than she would like.  Jackson is so hot and cold that it leaves Andi confused at times and she doesn't know what to do about it, but she thinks she can break that barrier that keeps him from being the nice Jackson that she knows he can be.

They both need to break their walls in order to make it work between them.  They have to overcome their pasts that seem to keep them apart, but it's been really hard for them to work on that.  How will they manage to break their walls and make it work?  They both go to therapy and it so happens that they have the same doctor!  Can this doctor help them see that they can be good together and should do whatever it takes to make it work?

I can't express how hot the chemistry is with these two, they don't seem to have a problem when it comes to the scorching hot sex they have, it makes your underwear sizzle when reading these scenes!!

Loved each and every character in this book.  They each add to this story and it makes it much more exciting and interesting.

This was a sexy, and heartwarming book that makes you feel like you need to sit on the edge of your seat when reading it.  I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this book.

I am looking forward to reading about Pepper and Jordan and Olive and Brayden.  I have to say that  if I loved this story between Andi and Jackson.....then, I'm sure to love the stories between her two best friends.

Kristi, you did a beautiful job with this story and I'm about to devour the next two novels!!

Definitely 5 stars for sure.

I’m a thirty-two-year-old self-proclaimed book nerd. Married for nearly eleven years, my husband and I enjoy spending time with our two lovely children. Writing is a newly acquired fun hobby for me. In the past, I’ve enjoyed the role as a reader. However, recently, I learned that I absolutely love taking on the creative role as the writer. Something about determining how the story will play out intrigues me to no end. My husband claims that it’s because I like to control things—in a way, he’s right!
By day, I run around from appointment to appointment, wearing many hats including, mom, wife, part-time graphic designer, blogger, networker, social media stalker, student, business owner, and book boyfriend hunter. (It’s actually a thing—complete with pink camo. I lurk around the internet, “researching” pictures of hot guys who fit the profile of whatever book boyfriend I’m reading or writing about)
I guess you can blame my obsession with books on my lovely grandmother, who is quite possibly my favorite person on the planet. At an early age, she took me to the half-priced bookstore each weekend and allowed me to choose a book. Every single time, she caved when I begged for two. Without her encouragement, I wouldn’t have been able to cope during some hard times without my beloved books.
Currently, I am finishing up my college degree that has taken me forever to complete. It’s just on the list of my many “bucket-list” goals that I subject myself to.
Most days, you can find me firmly planted in front of my computer. It’s my life. If the world ever loses power, I’d be one of the first to die—of boredom! But I guess as long as I have books and a light, I might just survive.
Looking forward, you can expect to see two more novels in the Breaking the Rules Series. I’m nearly finished with the third. Also, I have a standalone novel that will be released soon as well.
This writing experience has been a blast, and I’ve met some really fabulous people along the way. I hope my readers enjoy reading my stories as much as I do writing them. I look forward to connecting with you all!
