Except Hudson’s not the only one with secrets.

With their pasts pulling them into a web of unfounded mistrust, Alayna turns to the one person who knows Hudson the best—Celia, the woman he almost married. Hoping for insight from someone who understands all sides of the story, Alayna forms a bond with Celia that goes too far—revealing things about Hudson that could end their love for good.

This is the first relationship where Alayna hasn’t spiraled out of control. And she might lose Hudson anyway

Review:

Alayna has a past filled with stalking, obsessions and restraining orders. Hudson has a past filled with manipulating and destroying woman. Can these two with their terrible pasts create a future with each other?

"You're the first person I've ever met who makes me believe I might not be crazy. It's the best thing that's ever happened to me. You're the best thing that's ever happened to me."

"I know it's scary and our situation hasn't been ideal, but you are everything good for me. Nothing in this world is important to me beyond you. I can be the same for you. I know it. I'm so grateful that you've given me the chance to prove it."

I had just recently read the first book in the series so I did not have to wait to read this book, which is good because I needed my Hudson fix! I was very quickly drawn into Hudson and Alayna's story, and was rooting for them to find their true selves in each other. There are many roadblocks in their relationship. The largest one being themselves. Both Hudson and Alayna have a hard time opening up because of their pasts and lie, not face-to-face lying but lies of omission, to each other.

It was no good thinking about the things Hudson hid for me. It only led to the things I hidden from him. If we'd both been honest from the beginning, maybe we wouldn't be in the mess we were in now.

Their own issues cause strain on their relationship, but they also have to deal with his mother and Celia. Sophia has this sick belief that Hudson and Celia are destined to be together. She doesn't give Alayna a chance, says horrible things about about her, and tries to make her look bad any chance she gets. So when the big secret about her Precious Celia" gets revealed towards the end, I was thinking oh burn b***h and karma really sucks!" Let's get back to Celia, I had my suspicions about her in the first book and total saw what was going to happen concerning her in this book. There are still numerous questions unanswered about her and her motives, and we will have to wait until book three to find these out. Can Hudson and Alayna gets past their own issues and all of the outside forces trying to push them apart? Will Hudson finally tell Alayna he loves her? Will I be able to survive until January to get my final Hudson fix? I guess we will have to wait and see!

"Our pasts will always threaten to come between us. But nothing can come between us unless we let it"
