REVIEW

I know that I gave 5 stars for the first book and only 4 for the second book, but I promise I will explain why!!  Kim Karr wrote an amazing, heart breaking story that took me to the highest mountain and then plummeted me to the bottom of the ocean and that was just in chapter!!  Dahlia is in love with Ben, has been since forever.  He was her happily ever after, or so she thought.  A chance encounter with famous River Wilde made her question love, but not enough to change her course. However, life has a way of disagreeing with you and punching you in the face when you least expect it!!  Dahlia is faced with a horrific, life altering situation.  She doesn't deal well with it and ends up in mourning, being depressed, and basically living life in a fog for years. She has a great support system through Aerie her best friend and family, but they can't give her what she wants or needs.  In comes River Wilde, she met him by chance several years ago, but since then her life has changed drastically.  She is no longer the happy, content woman he met all those years ago, but a lost, sad, soul. River is not your typical rocker.  Don't get me wrong he loves to sing, produce music, and perform, but it is not his passion to be out on the stage.  He has not forgotten about Dahlia and his feeling for her when he sees her again are just as strong.  Dahlia and River's relationship is filled with sorrow, love, and healing.  Then Kim Karr has to drop the BIGGEST BOMB of my life at the end of Connected!!  AAHHHH!!!!  I had to wait 5 months, 5 long months to read the rest of their story!!  Shoot me now!! But, that is not why I gave Torn only 4 stars.  I felt that the connection between Dahlia and River was not felt as strong as the first one and her inability to discuss her feelings and constantly running away from everything was tiring.  Don't get me wrong, I am so glad that there wasn't a love triangle (tridick as I call it)!  But the encounters between Dahlia and Ben (spoiler) seemed unnatural and forced.  I know they had history but it just didn't seem to flow the way I thought it should.   River was the loving, unwavering boyfriend and Dahlia was the irritating, can't seem to get her act together girl, that everyone loves to hate. Needless to say, I still loved River and Dahlia and can't wait for the next Connections book.  Though I think Aerie needs her story like YESTERDAY, I think I can wait and am super excited about Xander!!  But no more bombs Kim!!!!
