Commitment. That’s what I really want from Colin. Ever since my brother, Danny, died in Iraq, Colin’s done so much to help me, including giving me a job at his popular restaurant so I can leave my crappy waitressing job at the strip joint. But lying in bed with him every night to comfort him from his horrible nightmares isn’t enough anymore. I know he feels guilty about Danny’s death, about not going to Iraq, but I can’t keep living this double life.
I love him desperately, but he’s got so many demons, and if he can’t open up to me now, then he’ll never be the real partner I need him to be. I gave him a month, and now I’m out of here. If he truly loves me like he says, he knows where to find me.
I received an ARC from Net Galley
I really enjoyed Drew and Fable's story, but I loved Colin and Jen's book even more! After getting little glimpses of Jen and Colin in the first two books I couldn't wait to read their story. I was not disappointed either!
Both Jen and Colin have guilt from actions of their pasts and keep their secrets and guilt to themselves. There is some MAJOR miscommunication between the two, that leads to misunderstandings and fighting. They are also both fighting their feelings for one another. There were times I wanted to shake both of them. Ahh Colin I kept thinking just tell her how you feel!!!!
Jen and Colin have been living together (as just friends) for almost a year now, after he rescued her from stripping at the Gold Digger. Jen feels like she is a burden and that Colin keeps having to rescue her. She wants freedom and decides that she needs to move on away from her past/guilt. Colin doesn't want her to leave but is afraid to tell her to stay. So Jen plans to move to Sacramento in four months. Because they only have a short amount of time together they decide give in and have a short fling. Oh the sex is hot and explosive! The author gives just the right amount of details and you will definitely get all hot and bothered! However both have more then friendly feelings for each other but feel like they are not good enough for each.
Will they be able to move away from their past guilt and move to a future together? You will have to read and see! If you love Drew and Fable then you will definitely fall in love with Jen and Colin. I can't wait for more books from this series and hopefully we will get a little more about Jen and Colin.
