Life works in mysterious ways.
Four years ago I became known as the girl with cancer.
I refuse to cry.
And I refuse to give in.
A relationship with a man is the last thing I’m looking for right now, but one night with Parker changes everything. He is persistent, and he knows what he wants. Me.
He doesn’t treat me like I’m fragile.
But he doesn’t know, and I’m not ready to tell him.
What if it changes everything?
Tragedy found me when I was seventeen.
Love found me when I was twenty-one.
My name is Aundrea McCall, and this is my journey.

Wow. I don't even know where to start.  What's Left of Me is easily in my top 5 books of 2013. This is the authors DEBUT novel! I can't even imagine how amazing her follow-up books will be, because this book just left me with the biggest book hangover I have had in a long time. This book is powerful, gut wrenching, and it takes you on an emotional roller coaster ride. It shows you how strong one person can be and that it is ok to open up and trust in others.

Aundrea has been fighting Cancer for four years. Instead of experiencing her senior year of high school (prom, senior trip, and graduating with her friends), she was going through chemo. Despite all that she has been through, she is such a strong young woman.

Parker has just moved to Minnesota. He was a Veterinarian intern and has just recently became partner at the clinic. He is HOT, comes from money, and made me swoon throughout the book.

Aundreas cancer has come back and she needs to have her chemo treatments done with a specialist at the Mayo clinic. Her sister, Genna, lives there, so she moves in with her and her husband, Jason. While having one more last night out before she starts her treatments, she meets Parker at a bar. Cue the SPARKS! There is an instant connection, some really hot dancing, and of course a one night stand. Thinking she won't see Parker again, yet she can't get out of him out of her head, Aundrea was in for a surprise when Parker just happens to be the new Partner in her brother-in-laws clinic.

Parker wants more from Aundrea but she is too afraid to open up and share all of herself. Can he break down her walls and learn all of her secrets? Will Aundrea beat Cancer and finally get to live? Jump on the emotional roller coaster and find out. This is a must read book!!

This book hit very close to home with me concerning the CANCER topic. I just lost my grandmother to lung cancer this past year and was by her side throughout her year long battle. She experienced so many of the symptoms and emotions that Aundrea did in this book. The author did an amazing  and spot on job of describing what goes and and how one feels while battling cancer and going through chemo. Reading this book brought back so many memories both good and bad, but it was also helped me heal a little bit more. I am so glad I got to read Aundrea's story. This is a book I can see myself re-reading numerous times, and I will HIGHLY recommend it to everyone!! If you do read this book make sure you have a large supply of tissues close because this one is a tear jerker! I was crying throughout, both happy and sad tears.

I am the mother of two little boys, married to the love of my life, and living in one of the smallest towns in Minnesota. When I’m not chasing or cleaning up after my boys (yes, all three), I can be found writing or snuggled up with my kindle, a glass of wine, and spending time with my fictional friends and family.
