Lucas Beck crawled through Melinda James’ window every night. Each time, gaining a piece of her heart and leaving a bit of his behind.

Lucas was in love with the girl next door, but he ruined any chance he had of making her his. So, he moved on without her.

Lindy gave her heart to the boy next door, but he left her humiliated and heartbroken. So, she started a new life without him.

They both head off to college, leaving the other behind. Lucas finds success then misery on the Football field. Lindy finds new love, but it never feels quite right.

Years later, Lucas and Lindy find themselves back in their hometown. Will Lindy open her window again and give Lucas another chance?

"I'm known as the weird girl from Warrington High.  I'm quiet, I like to read, and I'm really smart.  I'm the one student all the teachers use as an example."

I really liked this book!!  Even though Lucas is a pure ASS in the beginning!  You first meet Lindy and Lucas in high school.  Lucas is the star quarter back and Lindy is a fluffy, nerdy girl, but they have been best friends since they were young. Lindy has feelings for Lucas but is afraid to tell him because of his mean group of friends.  They are both at a graduation party the night before she leaves for college when everything changes for the worse.

"I see a beautiful girl inside and out." Lucas moves his hand to my hair.  "I see hair so red it reminds me of a beautiful sunset."  I see eyes so green they remind me of fresh cut grass.  I see lips that look so soft I'm dying to kiss them."

Now four years later Lindy and her best friend Tara are moving back to their hometown after graduating college.  Lindy hasn't been back since that horrible night and has cut off all contact with Lucas.  But that isn't all!!  Lindy has dropped all her weight and is even more beautiful than when she left and is about to shock the hell out of Lucas!!  Lucas blew out his knee in college and lost his scholarship and is now working at a motorcycle shop and living at home.  NOT your best scenario to win a girl over that you wronged horribly in high school!! Unfortunately he arrives with the biggest known bitch Kelsey and ruins his chances at redemption even more!!!

"I always thought she was pretty, but now she was drop-dead gorgeous."

Lucas tries to show Lindy he has changed but it falls on deaf ears.  She is still hurt deeply from that night four years ago and it isn't something she is ready to forgive him for quickly or easily.  Lucas is determined to make Lindy see that he is a better man and has always over her.

"You aren't nothing, Lindy.  You  never were.  I was the one who was nothing."

Lindy puts up a good fight but feelings and emotions always win.  Besides, who can say no to a hot, tattooed God, who drives a motorcycle?!  They take things so slow but every amazing relationship has it's demon to fight and this one comes in the form of a royally crazy bitch named Kelsey!!  She is fire alarm ten crazy!!  She stalks them everywhere they go and doesn't want to believe that Lucas and her are over.  She constantly taunts Lindy and will only refer to her as "piglet."

"That might be true, but I will just have to learn how to be good at pretending that I don't love him."

There is of course one more little bump.  A guy named Chad that has been trying to get Lindy to marry him for over a year.  Even though she has told him that she doesn't feel, that way for him, he is determined to show her otherwise..or so he thinks...

"If she walked out of my life again, I would fucking die, I might still be breathing, but my soul would be dead."

"Oh Lucas, I am sorry that I haven't told you before, but I love you.  I've loved you forever."

"Shit, Lindy Lou.  I've wanted to marry you since the day that shark went after you."

I liked that the story was written from both Lindy and Lucas's points of view.  You really got to see from both sides what each was thinking or feeling.  I also loved that each chapter started with a brief conversation between Lindy and Lucas from their childhood.  It really sealed their relationship and helped build up their current relationship to the level it was as adults.

I am the proud mother of two lovable but irritating teenagers. I have been married for over twenty years, but I would gladly trade my husband for Tatum Jackson any day! If you are wondering who that is, you need to read Sweet Dreams by KA now. Kristen Ashley is my queen! I love to read. I am a complete mommy porn junkie! I have more books on my kindle than most people could read in a lifetime, but I will get to them all eventually! I am also an avid blogger. I love to share my favorite books and pimp my favorite authors.  I have just finished writing my first book with the amazing Dawn Martens. I hope you all enjoy Whiskey Lullaby! I also just finished my first solo book, Windows.
