Review for Switched by Cassie Mae

Title: Switched
Author: Cassie Mae
Rating: 5 Groupie Stars

Ever since high school, Kayla has been crazy for gorgeous football player Talon.  but before she could muster the courage to tell him, he became a hot item with her beautiful BBF, Reagan.  The only person who knows Kayla's secret is Welsey, Talon's best bud- and he's got it bad for Reagan.  Now they're all in college together, hanging out 24/7.  For Kayla, seeing the two lovebirds together is absolutely unbearable.  So Kayla and Wesley hatch a plot to drive them apart before Talon has a chance to give Reagan the Christmas gift she's been waiting for.
Soon enough, the once happy couple is fighting.  Reagan suddenly can't get enough of Wesley's goofy sense of humor, and Talon seems to be paying more attention to Kayla than a guy who's "only a friend" ever should.  But just when everything seems to be falling into place, Kayla and Wesley accidentally spend a night together and discover a hitch in their plan they never considered: that switching partners may not lead to a perfect ending after all.

"I sat in the gravel and stared at the swings, wishing I had the energy to get off my butt and ride home. That's when I was first introduced to that oh-so-cute boy who lived a few streets away."

Switched was such a great read!  Fun and light-hearted!!  The characters were quirky and funny and people you could definitely relate to at times.  I mean who hasn't wished they had their best friend's hot boyfriend!!  I found myself laughing out loud or smirking while reading many of the chapters.  The antics that Kayla and Wesley tried to get Reagan and Talon broken up was out right hilarious at times!

"That we'll all be much happier love square if we're with the right people."

Kayla has been secretly in love with Talon since she was in elementary school and Wesley has been in love with her best friend, Reagan for the last year.  The only problem is that Reagan and Talon are dating each other.  So after a year of pining together, Kayla and Wesley devise a plan to get Reagan and Talon to break up amicably and make them fall in love with them.

"I promise.  We'll be careful.  No ruined relationships….Except theirs, he says."

The best laid plans never work out 100 percent of the time and poor Kayla and Wesley find that out.  Though neither one of them are very good at making their attempts work they believe that it will all work out in the end.  I laughed so hard and some of the situations they put themselves through just to have some "alone" time with Reagan or Talon to get them to like them more!!  Don't get them wrong, they truly believed they had everyone's best interests at heart and didn't want to break Reagan and Talon up if they truly had deep feelings for each other.  But once the seed was planted in their heads that it might not be like that,  it was game on!!
The funny thing, they think it works!  So shouldn't they be excited that the people they love are finally single??!!  Nope!!  At least not for Kayla, who now for some reason can't stop thinking about Wesley in "more than friendly" ways.

"My arms locked around him underneath his coat, and I never realized how much I really like the gummy bear smell Wesley has, it's oddly comforting.  Like he's my comfort food."

Kayla starts questioning her motives and if she made a bad decision.  Everything is going her way, right…but she can't stop feeling that this isn't what she wants anymore.  Will this crazy "love square get straightened out or will it turn into a parallelogram?!

Can I just say I LOVED this story!!!  Everyone will fall in love with not only Kayla and Wesley but also Reagan and Talon!  This story will have you laughing and giddy one moment and upset and hurting for Kayla and Wesley the next!!  Cassie brought the reader into the story with the characters' little quirks that were so real and understandable.  I couldn't stop reading because I wanted to know what Kayla and Wesley would come with next and the END!!  OH the END!!!  What a happy happy twisty end!!!!!  I will definitely be reading Cassie Mae's other books!!!

"Kayla, just we're clear on this…I.Want.You."

"I fell in love in the dark.  There was someone in the dark with me, and I fell in love piece by piece, not knowing it was love I was feeling."
Cassie Mae (sometimes writes as Becca Ann) is a nerd to the core from Utah, who likes to write about the other nerds who find love.  Her angel children and perfect husband fan her and feed her grapes while she clacks away on the keyboard.  Then she wakes from that dream world and manages to get a few words on the computer while the house explodes around her.  When she's not writing, she's spending time with the youth in her community as a volleyball and basketball coach, or searching the house desperately for chocolate.
