Mr. Clay Nichols is hotter than ever in Night after Night. Clay met Julia in the prequel First Night in which they shared a night together, it was a onetime thing, no strings no commitments. But that didn’t seem to work out very well for them because they seemed to want more out of each other after they shared that one night. Their chemistry was off the charts and neither one wanted to abide by rules after that night!
We are consumed into this deeper world of lies, some hot sex and secrets. They both seem to have some pretty deep secrets that they still seem to carry. Julia is consumed with her ex-boyfriend Dillon’s debts that has ruined her life, but she refuses to let this affect her personal life and involved her friends and family, she fears for their life and doesn’t want to put them in danger. Julia refuses to tell anyone her secret, Gail, her hairstylist is the only one who knows her secret and she intends to keep it that way. She is determined to fix this little problem that she got stuck with on behalf of her wonderful ex.
Clay refuses to have another relationship based on lies, lies is the one thing he hates the most in his life. He refuses to go through that hell ever again, he refuses to get involved with a person who will deceive and lie to him once again. Neither one wants to give in but their chemistry is so electrifying that they can’t seem to stay away from each other.
I love a man with a dirty mouth and Clay has that in him, it is a freaking turn on. If Julia who is such a strong and independent woman who thinks she will not fall for another man again and see’s herself doing exactly that with Clay, any woman would too! That man knows exactly what he wants and he will turn you to jelly just by the dirty ways he talks. I think Julia kicks ass, she’s such a strong woman and she can hold her own, except when it comes to Clay. She loves how Clay treats her, how he talks to her and the fact that he listens to her. That man respects her to no end. She will put her life on the line to protect those she loves. As much as she desires and wants Clay and she knows she needs him, she just can’t seem to break down and confess her secret to him and that’s something that will come between them. Can she trust him enough to tell him her secret? Can their relationship survive if she were to tell him?
This is my first series from Lauren Blakley, and I think she did a great job with these two books. She is a pro when it comes to writing erotic novels. It’s a great suspenseful read, it keeps you hooked! I can’t wait to continue reading the conclusion to Julia and Clay’s story. I’m sure there’s a happy ending for these two and I really need to find out what’s going to happen with Julia and her secret. I loved Clay’s dominant ways. This was a wonderful book that will keep you wanting more.
I definitely give this 4.0 stars. I can’t wait for After this Night, I need to find out what’s going to happen between Julia and Clay, it’s making me bite my nails since I have to wait another week!
